Trade Tavares for a tough ass that scores 20. Make him captain. Is there one around? These guys won’t do shit with this leadership. Plus some fresh out of university book stat kid as the G.M.?!? (I honestly don’t know anything about him...I’m just venting).

It would be a real humiliation to win a trophy associated with such scum as Toe Blake and Mats Naslund.

Personally, I'd refuse the 'honour', to be placed in the same category at those two dusters.
I believe that you are alluding to the fact that when Matthews was nominated for the Lady Byng, darts was mocking it as something of an award for pussy players. Now he is playing it up.

Consistently inconsistent.

Dubas doesn't have the slightest clue on how to fix the blue line, he traded away defensemen. He traded away Rosen and Borgman for a cupcake and chicken fat. It was a foregone conclusion.
Why would you want more AHL defensemen? They already have Marincin.

Teams that advanced play structured defense.
Babcock likes to coach structured defense, hmmmmmmm

You know we Leaf fans are overreacting. Leafs management won't make knee jerk reactions, they will take time to reflect and re-evaluate the situation. Changes will be made.

Well sure, it's been 2 full, well, not full, but 1 full, and 1 season interrupted by a worldwide pandemic.
The general manager has obviously had more than enough time to put his plan in place.
How his team hasn't won the Cup is unfathomable!
You sound like you're defending Dubas' record to date, and support his supposed 'plan' to turn the Leafs around....Okay, so assuming Leafs Management gives Dubas more time to continue executing 'his plan', what exactly are the moves going to be? Who stays, who goes? Please, be specific. Your confidence in Dubas leads me to believe you're expecting there to be some pretty significant moves coming soon, or do you simply support the team he has assembled to date as correct and an appropriate path forward to the cup?

not always sure...
That article was from eight months ago and it was a meaningless “sportswriters need something to talk about so we’ll create mid season awards” prize, based on Nylander's absence last year.

That vote was widely ridiculed, along the lines of: “If I don’t do my job for a season and then start doing my job again will I get a comeback of the year award?”

Seravelli states outright that Nylander won over Connor McDavid’s comeback from a broken leg and James Neal’s resurgence in Edmonton essentially only because Nylander plays in Toronto. That’s how seriously we should take this.

He’s not a hockey player, he’s an animal.
The Flames are an impossible team to like, unless you live there.
The Canucks and Habs play exciting hockey and are fun to watch. The Flames are just an unfortunate group of characters.
Pulling for Matthew Tkachuk is as gratifying as pulling for Milan Lucic. I mean, you could.... but why would you?

I'm surprised McDavid wasn't nominated for the Bill Masterton trophy. TSN had a documentary on how McDavid fought back from the knee injury without resorting to surgery.

P.S. I agree with you about Nylander winning the comeback "award". Not really a serious award at all.

"Animal" Tkachuk good for 30 goals, Agreed his contract may be prohibitive. Still believe this team needs to add toughness to the top 6 forwards and defense. What other options are out there?

What other options? I think Nick Robertson will make the club next season. How's that for toughness upfront?

Don't know why Dart bothered to start his own Leafs thread. He's notorious for deleting threads on a whim.

Try to refrain from personal comments. Thank you.
His comment was not personal. What he said is a fact. You have a history of deleting threads.

Respect is earned, not given.

Since the general thread on the Toronto Maple Leafs seems to have been vanished, here's a new place to discuss Maple Leafs events, news, points of view and yes, even Guy Lapointe.
It vanished because Dart deleted it.
He also deleted the birds have 2 brains thread. Probably because Shack enjoyed it too much.

Guys, should we skip having a 2020-21 Leaf thread? It will only bring pain, heartache and deep disappointment to the 3 hardcore Leaf fans in this forum who think/wish the Leafs walk on water (ice?). LOL!
