Individual success is meaningless unless the Leafs can make and go deep in the playoffs.
How convenient that you deleted the original Leafs thread because on it you were lamenting how no Leafs ever win individual rewards as a sign of franchise failure.

Helps with a new coach that knows what he's doing. You play your backup against weak teams.
A new coach who puts his players in a position to .... wait for it .... succeed !!

I was very impressed by Michael Hutchinson's performance last night and very pleased to see the new coach's right decision to get the much needed W.

Go Leafs Go!

Their narrow victory over the Sens was a very nice game to watch. I did not take a washroom break during the entire 60 minutes.:very_drunk:

There were 2 intermissions, and a pause before overtime.
63:54, not 60:00

Monday's game vs Florida the Leafs have to treat it like a playoff game with a massive urgency.

Kyle Dubas & Sheldon Keefe's Maple Leafs.

From an article in The Athletic today....

Recently Toronto called up Kevin Gravel from the Marlies, for a day/practice with the big club.

Gravel has been battling Crohn's Disease, recently cleared for contact.
Reward? Practice with the Maple Leafs.

Players (other players) on the Maple Leafs see this, Marlies players see this, Growlers players see this.
Treating players like people.

Other Maple Leafs players said he was just beaming, couldn't stop smiling.

Strangely, Gravel makes more money as a Toronto Marlie than as a Maple Leaf.
He's on a one way deal, in the AHL there is no escrow deducted from his wages.

Tim and Sid showed the legit Battle of Alberta, it brought back memories.

I Leafs vs Canadiens game from the 80's. Wendell Clarke took on John Kordic, Clarke hit him 8 times, Kordic hits him once -and that was the end. So the genius Gord Stellick trades for him so Clarke doesn't have to face him...brilliant move.

Poor Cam Talbot had to answer for Rittich going Jose Bautista in the previous game. Mike Smith is a grizzly bear.

Not entirely Hutch. Leafs took their foot off the pedal right after they netted their third goal and their play visibly got lazy and sloppy. Result - FloPa netted 2 goals within a minute and the Leafs never recovered their poise.

Just a ball-busting loss to a game they could have / should have easily won.

Every once in a while you shit the bed...
Or every thrice in a while if your playing the Panthers with the final playoff berth on the line.

It's time(right now!) for Dubas to show his managerial brilliance. Leafs need a point shot(left or right), a back up goalie and a good defenseman and a solid dman with balls who knows how to block shots and dig out the puck. He can get them by shopping Marner and Rilley. Oh, yeah- kind of important. The Leafs currently do not have a defensive system, they're constantly improvising which is very strange because the Bowman's/Babcock's Red Wings were a bitch to play against with their defensive system. I would thought that some of it would have found its way into.the Leafs' organization. I don't think it's the coaching, it looks like a lack.of commitment/skill from the players.
