Frank Zappa
Zappa is far from overrated solely given how influential his work and his collab projects were for Western popular and underground music. Cohen I appreciate his talent but I agree on Clapton and the Dead, they were pushed hard beyond their songwriting abilities by either major labels or the feds or both.

I'm surprised 5 pages and no mention of the most overrated band "Oasis "
Bingo. Legends in their own minds. Neil Innes of the Ruttles commented about the Noel Gallagher pronouncement that they were better than the Beatles.
"They're not even better than the Ruttles" .

Pink Floyd is the most overrated band in history.
Rubbish.🤮
It's just sound effects of helicopters and alarm clocks.

Bob Dylan. I never got it. And as Joni Mitchell said “Bob is not authentic at all. He’s a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception.”

Not my favourite song either, moreso Every Breath You Take.

I'm surprised nobody went after Rod Stewart. Good singer and great songs in his career, but is he really worth all the praise?
JusT saw him on the Graham Norton Show, terrible voice, but he is a showman. Only song I really enjoyed Rhythm Of My Heart.

Cohen has a terrible voice but his song Hallelujah was terrific and K.D. Lang's live rendition at the B.C. Olympics was the best I have ever heard. Also, liked Closing Time. Again, poor vocalist but a great song writer.

Wait, I'm confused, aren't Bon Jovi supposed to put The Beatles to shame? Supposedly they've sold over a billion album.

As for Oasis, they bored me at first. However the Phil Spector wall of sound they've managed to recreate does wear down your resistance. I'll admit, this song is so awesome that I haven't explored much else by them.
