Well said. If you're basing your vote on a party's prostitution laws, you're about as narrow-minded as they come.
Very true

We face a serious problem with political correctness - it is in fact even more serious than islamic terrorism. The politically correct propaganda is making lies into truth. The doublespeak is coming in full speed. Socialism, Communism and Fascism is on our doorstep friends. Wake up!

The oldest profession in the world isnt going away anytime soon, regardless of who's in power
Precisely. Furthermore, I highly doubt anyone is going to be charged for paying for sexual services between consenting adults, (unless you're really stupid) regardless of who's in power. While I'm sure there's instances where men have been charged under the current Liberal Government, just like gay marriage and abortion, I highly doubt things will change on an enforcement level should Cons win.

Spot on.

Its not really worth spending police resources on busting escort agencies either.
It takes tremendous manpower away from other more serious crimes for the police to really bother with them

You got it. It's pretty much a non-issue unless there's a complaint. Fining people for minor traffic offences brings in huge $$$ whereas busting johns doesn't. LE would rather observe and collect than serve and protect.

The fact that we all thought this was Asian agencies and found out it was not, is was was more interesting to me. We ALL know the amount of true human trafficking happening in the Asian market. I don’t understand why police are not focusing on that. That would be a bigger bust then this.
The York Region LE is known to be corruption riddled and inept. The types of people arrested and paraded before the media are as I predicted in previous posts and this will continue to be the case. You are very wrong in stating that "we" all though that was an Asian Agency. The Asian sex trade into Canada , particularly into the GTA and Vancouver is very sophisticated and well above the scope of what York Region LE can handle or even dare to interfere with. Canada continues to be a joke for many abroad and in Canada, a place to "snow wash" money from parts of Asia with funds derived from illiciit drugs like Fentanyl , gambling, real estate scams and prostitution.

True. He also hasn’t enforced C-36, though.
In this election C-36 is a non issue a non-starter with the vast majority of the public not even knowing what this law is. No PM would touch it unless ordered to by the Supreme Court.

I read those links and I'm appalled at the the absolute bullshit that the police are using.

1. They set up "sting" operations at hotels. So this isn't a case of posing as street walkers. (Street Walkers can cause concerns in the local community because it's so flagrant .). This is purely anti sex industry. The cops were operating out of a hotel which is NOT out in the public and is not a nuisance. So clearly the cops are targeting the sex industry period.

2. In the articles the cops are not referring to it as prostitution, they are now calling it "human trafficking" which is bullshit again because no-one is being trafficked. (How could they be, they are cops conducting a sting operation?). Therefore, LE has adopted the lingo, "human trafficking" because it's real hard to argue against human trafficking. This has nothing to do with human trafficking for fuck sakes. This is just a plain old entrapment scam that the police have been carrying out for forever for a laugh.

3. How is any john supposed to know he's using the services of someone who has been trafficked unless the seller (in this case a police officer) tells the potential client, prior to getting down to business, "hey, just so you know, I am being forced against my will to have sex with you". I can only hope that if any potential client heard that kind of statement, he would cancel the appointment immediately and get the hell out of there and call the police. I can't see too many guys saying, " I don't care, I'm here, I'm horny, now do your job". To somehow paint these johns with the "human trafficking" brush means they (the Johns) had to be aware of it.

Clearly the police are trying say that anyone who sells sex is a victim of human trafficking and this simply is not the case.

What do you mean “wouldn’t dare to interfere with?”

LE in that region doesn't want to be embarrassed and get in over their heads and upset a lot of people there so instead they offer up the lowest of the lowest hanging fruit with pictures time and time again.

In this article London Police cheif Pare says his force's enforcement efforts are focused on victims of traffickers, not those who freely choose to work in the sex trade. If he doesn't have a problem with women freely working in the sex industry why is he trying to arrest their potential clients? I wonder if this would be a possible defence for a john charged in a sting. Could he claim he had no intention of dealing with someone who was trafficked?
The agenda in London is driven by Megan Walker and her abolishonist organisation.

Fuck all happens, crime wise(and otherwise), in the Southwestern Ontario(speaking of London). If a police chief wants to make political waves, what is he suppose to do? All the vices are being normalized. People just roll their eyes at the drug busts, gambling is mainstream, so all's left is prostitution. And if you can wrap it in human trafficking, so much the better.

having a licensing regime would make it very easy to tell who is doing it out of their own free will and who is being exploited, and who is enabling the exploiters.
That's not true.
Pimps can and will fake a license and nobody will ever know for sure until there is an audit.
It's like taxes, there is just simply too many doing it to checkup on every single ad.
Similar to how it is now, the police literally have to go in person, identify themselves as authority and check if the girl is doing it freely.

Unless the government has a monopoly on advertising platforms, there will always be a classified ad website available, but that really can't happen unless they start censoring the internet.

In addition, legalization and licensing now means the government will enforce when, where and how you can work.
Including taking their cut. You have essentially made the government your pimp.

Is that really what you want?
