Pretty much. The last 4 drafts plus 2021 will have given us good to very good players at the top. That will change in 2022 with Wright and 2023 with Bedard.
When it comes to generational talents it's usually 7-10 years between cycles: Lemieux in 1984, Lindros in 1991, Crosby in 2005 and McDavid in 2015. As great as Matthews is I don't quite consider him generational.
Not sure Lindros belong in the same crowd .
Matthews is only 23. One or more Hart, Art Ross, Rocket and, the CUP of course will help his stature. For what its worth he was ranked 4th in All-star voting last year.
