He seems like a capable guy and quite charismatic in that Daily Show interview. But he’s only gonna be PM until an election is called. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a dreamland. Jesus Christ himself wouldn’t be able to shake off the Trudeau stink and rescue the party.

The best a good Liberal leader can do is ‘put up a good fight’ and minimize losses. Organize the Libs into a competent opposition party. It might be the difference between 4-5 years of PP or a decade.

The limo had to be secured by a credit card. They know. It's probably Carney realizing after the fact how bad it looks, and getting the limo company to cover for him.

The prompter was just one glitch at the launch. Before the doors opened, a white limousine outfitted to look like a Rolls-Royce pulled up in the parking lot as journalists waited outside.

The driver said he was picking someone up, but didn't know who. After about five minutes facing questions and video cameras, the driver slowly backed out of the lot.

The limo company later told CBC News they have no idea who booked the vehicle and all they had was the requester's phone number and they repeatedly didn't pick up.

Carney's campaign said they had nothing to do with it and had no idea who did.

I agree the Liberals are toast, no matter who leads them. But because expectations for the Liberals are so low, any Liberal leader who prevents total annihilation and reasonably salvages the party will be seen as a hero.

So…there was a Rolls Royce Limo at Mark Carney’s campaign launch in Edmonton yesterday. But nobody was in it when it arrived. Carney’s campaign says someone hired it to make him look bad. We saw Mark leave his rehearsal earlier in running shoes and a regular car. #cdnpoli
