More evictions, bankruptcies, and suicides right before Xmas. Happy Holidays!
Many kids & young people's lives have already been saved due to the worldwide lockdowns.

Because motor vehicle accident deaths are the #1 leading worldwide cause of death in such.

"Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens."

https://www.google.com/search?q=lead...hrome&ie=UTF-8

"Each year, 1.35 million people are killed on roadways around the world.4

"...Road traffic injuries are estimated to be the eighth leading cause of death globally for all age groups and the leading cause of death for children and young people 5–29 years of age. More people now die in road traffic crashes than from HIV/AIDS.4"

https://www.cdc.gov/injury/features/...nd%20cyclists.

What is obviously clear is that as a result of lockdowns:

1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.

Watch for York to capitulate citing irate Toronto patrons jumping north of Steeles to enjoy a dine in experience while they still can until Ford is forced to either vacillate or abdicate late next spring due to angry pent up, restaurant starved, everything revolves around me, centre of the universe “Torontonians” I can say this because I am a Hogtown product.
York region only asked Ford not to be included in the same lockdown as Peel and Toronto because York Region only went into the Red Zone 1 week ago where as Peel and Toronto has always been in the Red Zone. They never said don't lock down York Region ever. We all know the lock down for York Region is inevitable. Same goes with the surrounding regions too but will just take a bit longer. So the best thing to do now is to just prepare for it and adjust to be when it comes around.

The way things are going, we're heading to a full lock down sooner rather than later.

Blaming “Covidiots” is rich.

Lockdowns do nothing. Masks do nothing. This is all theatre.
If Lockdowns and Masks don't do anything. What would you recommend to stop the spread, or are you hoping for herd immunity?

Masks will never work as long as there are people actively refusing to "give in" to the mandate of wearing a mask in public. If people just listened and wore a mask when asked to, the numbers wouldn't be so high. Majority of the spike comes from people who decide to continue to social gather during a pandemic. I guarantee you that majority of them are probably not wearing a mask when they do this because they think there is no harm until it's too late.

if people just adjusted to the current situation for just a few months we wouldn't be in a situation we're in. Just look at other countries that imposes more strict guidelines compare to us and look at well they are doing to combat this pandemic.

The Ontario government is just asking you to follow social distancing guidelines and to wear a mask when out in public, you're not being conscripted to fight a war. I still don't understand how requiring mask wearing and social distance, or to just go out when you need something to help slow the spread of this virus is to somehow violating your rights as a citizen. Do what's right for society. You and your family are part of this society and it's only as strong as it's weakest member.

Yes!! And we must mention my neighbor Corrado who walks everyday to buy the paper and to have a chat at the espresso bar before opening his barber shop. But, that day in the spring when the tree has fallen across the sidewalk, he wasn't walking because of the shutdown. Thus, miraculously, his life was spared because of Covid. Of course, a few days latter, he had himself a heart attack and died alone on the kitchen floor when his wife was stuck in Italy under a lockdown and couldn't make the scheduled flight back. So, I guess, in the end he broke even. And we couldn't even go to the funeral to drink a toast and laugh about his favorite story about meeting Dino Zoff. Note. The tree did fall(around that time), but who's to tell, eh?

This whole thing with "...if only people listened and wore masks and social distanced, it would all be over soon", is as false as giving fat people a diet regiment that doesn't work and then blaming them for not loosing weight because they didn't stick to the diet plan.

It's dishonest and deliberately sets us to failure.
I didn't say it would be over soon if we just listened and wore masks and social distance. I said the numbers wouldn't be as high as they are now. There's a difference. The problem isn't going away any time soon. This is the new norm. The sooner people accept this as facts, the sooner we can start getting things back to "normal". As long as there are people out protesting about how wearing a mask infringes on their beliefs and rights, the longer we will be stuck in this situation.

Maybe instead of blaming few people that do not believe that masks even work, we should concentrate on closing down the TTC. This virus incubator on wheels (buses, street cars and subways) affect more than a million people everyday.

If we are serious about this "war" on the virus we should implement real measures and not set people for failure by giving bad advice.
Essential workers use the TTC.

You can put on a mask, keep proper hygiene, socially distance like you're supposed to for the greater good of the community, it's really not that hard.
Absolutely other people's health is dependant on how selfish people act, Unfortunately although a small percentage of the population but there are a significant bunch of selfish Covidiot that are having an effect on the spread of the Coronavirus.
Yes like the people who keep on going to MPs and the way they were kept open. Smartest decision the government had made yet is to finally shut down the MPs. They should have been shut down with the clubs and bars. Now we will see cases drop somewhat.
