I do agree with.......

many of the posters here. If you are average height than you should do average in dating. I DO recommend for some, like myself ,that are stigmatized with the " short guy" image. Those 4" will put me in the average category. Many studies shown that if you are in the unmistakable "short" category..... women just do not find ya' sexy & lots of subconcious negative thoughts about men being short inhibit a women from being attracted. Sooo for some: Yes ... it can be life changing. BUT my research has drawn me to seek out the Doc. in Germany. Much more expensive BUT it is an internal device with less pain & complications. I would not risk life & limbs to go the cheap route. Better & cleaner hospitals with a newer... far better proceedure. Even so ....still thinking about it..... Hey .... any migit dating meet-ups????

While y'all short guys are thinking and obsessing about this procedure...

just know this..

Picasso was 5'3 - he had a myriad of women in his lifetime - he married like 6 times and had many children - alot of those women even ended up pretty stalker-ish obsessed about him - some with tragic results.

Just food for thought...

p.s. Oh, and I saw a pic of picasso - he was bald, very bald. Oh, and alot of the girls he dated were taller than him.

p.s.s. Napoleon and Josephine anyone?

Height may well be a major factor to women, but not all women. Find one who has no problem with your height. You might not find a 5'10" supermodel to bear your children, but I refuse to believe you can't locate a civilian woman with whom you can build a happy life.

I guarantee, even if this crazy-ass surgery is successful and you come out of it with your two precious inches, you'll find something else wrong with yourself in quick order.

Surgery won't repair a low self-esteem and self-hatred.
Exactly. In addition to that:
1) There's no guarantee that you'll be confident when you're 6' or 6'2". Shit, I'm 6' and sometimes I feel insecure about my height.

2) You know what women like more than height? Confidence. You need a shrink, not an extension!

Cute-bald, you stigmatize yourself with EVERY GODDAMN POST.

I am 5'5" and I haven't had the kinds of problems you saddle yourself with since junior high. I just spent the time since getting awesome instead.

You, however, actually research how much women don't like short men? Why waste your time validating a belief that makes you so unhappy? You'd be better off spending that time and energy on women who actually like you.

If you get that surgery, you'll go from insecure short guy who can't pick up to insecure average-height guy who has a huge medical bill, who still can't pick up.

Leg-stretching: It don't cure stupid.

CB, you seem like a nice guy---no homo---lol, so I am going to put things in perspective for you:) .

I am a 5'10" guy who has "farkin" asperger syndrome and other anxiety disorders. I would much rather be 5'5' and be able to live a "normal" life then to be 5'10" with AS and other mental health issues. www.aspergers.ca.

I am making the best of my controversial situation. I have a guy friend who is 5'3'. He doesn't have AS and is totally "normal." That is if we consider anybody as being "normal" today-lol. My 5'3" friend wound up marrying a "hot" looking Spanish chick. He has two kids with her.

Never once, did my friend let his lack of height bother him. He made the best of his bad situation.

CB, I can tell from your posts that you have a lot going for you. If I remember correctly, you said that you own 4 condos and are starting up an escort agency. IMHO, use that same confidence to meet women.

I'll trade you my "aspergers" predicament for your "short" predicament any day of the week---lol. Good luck CB!

Hangman, you're positive attitude about things is very inspiring:) . I like the fact that you have spent your time "getting awesome" instead of worrying about your height. Good work!

I am also trying to make myself "as awesome" as I can even though I have Aspergers!

Yes.....

... you guys make some valid points & I don't really consider going to such an extent as leg lengthening. PLUS I do not see myself as anything other than a normal, average guy. My height has never been a hinderance ... except .. I do make valid point as born out by research that there is a societal stigma against short men that most women hold & it makes our success in dating much more challenging. My 2 best friends from University are 6'4" & 6'6" .... & hanging out with them...... well they have no sparking personality BUT women PICK THEM UP. I witness this first hand! OH well .... just got to forge on.

I am 5'9", but I strongly believe that my thigh should be about 2 inches longer to be in proportion to the rest of my body. Achieving this will of course make me 5'11", which itself would make me very happy.

The main issue for me is price. I am so confused by the huge variation in price, ranging from $8000 in China to $150,000 in USA:

http://www.shortsupport.org/Health/Leg-Lengthening/hospitals.html

Where should I go to get this done? If I contact any of them, they will all say that they will get the job done for me. Should I go with the middle prices ($30,000, which is the most I will pay) to get a get a good balanced feeling of results and cost? Or go to China to save as much money as possible and cross my fingers?
do the left leg first and see how it goes before you commit to doing the right leg.

Early nomination for statement of 2009.

Good for you hyperdog, how nice that's someone's being proactive. If it means that much to you it doesn't matter what everyone else is saying.

That having been said most of my girlfriends have a 'height requirement'. Maybe its shallow but how can one help what one is attracted to? Its the same as a guy not being attracted to certain races, body shapes, etc except maybe more widescale.

Well if you are in China, it's not like Chinese women have lots of other alternatives. A better barometer is what happens to the Chinese men outside China.

I did some browsing of singles ads, what I observed was that the majority of the women had a strong preference for taller guys. But there were a decent minority whose preference was for shorter guys. You just have to compete with all the other shorter guys to get them.

I am also tall with Aspergers, and I would not trade that for short and neurotypical. Perhaps it is just a matter of being happy with what you have, Aspergers is indeed an obstacle, but you hear so much pain from short guys, it seems worse. At least with Aspergers, people do not like me, and I can't help it, but because I have Aspergers, I don't care. Being short, and being rejected for it, and being hurt by that, would be worse. Who knows.

Hmm I am about 165 cm--get ready for a world of disappointment buddy lol. I am planning on doing something drastic as well-going to move somewhere where the average population is shorter!...eventually maybe...

go for it. for what its worth, I had an underbite and decided to get it fixed, they cut my lower jaw and moved it back, cut my upper jaw and brought it forward and extended the chin. A lot of people were against it, but not a single one to this day said anything negative when they saw the results.

careful where you get it done..... You might come out of the operation missing a kidney, liver, lung, bones or some other vital body parts.

There is usually a catch to the low prices. I'm sure you have heard of the Indian surgeon who has been removing kidneys from his patients without their knowledge so he could sell them for loads more money to those in need and willing to pay for it.

As I said, earlier, stay away from China. Serbia, France and Germany are much better.
