Why don't you change your name to shtick . Cause these type of posts that are your shtick . I am surprised you didn't talk about the Frank Mahovlich trade isn't that how old you are or maybe we should go back to the 50's ?
Actually, I was just about to say that the Mahovlich, Stemkowski, Unger and rights to Carl Brewer for Ullman, Henderson and Smith did not work out so well. The worst part was when Smith became GM later on in the Ballard era. Disastrous tenure.

50's is too early. I started watching hockey in the '61/'62 season. Just missed watching Rocket Richard play.

Anything else you need to know?:p

BTW, don't you think your handle is somewhat of an embarrassment?

Sort of like if somebody had "Daigle" as their handle.

The worst part of it was that Gary Unger was the big loss. He'd only played a small number of games for the Leafs but became one of the best players in the league and had a long career. He also had the ironman record until Doug Jarvis broke it.

Francois Beauchemin back to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Joffrey Lupul, defenceman Jake Gardiner and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in the 2013 Entry Draft.
Francois Beauchemin was a second team all star last year. The Ducks had the clear advantage in the deal last year as Lupul was hurt again and Gardiner was (and continues to be) an enigma. If we are using the Kessel was better in 2013 approach, then the clear winner of the deal was the Ducks. Even if Lupul was healthy, he was not second team all star level.

Of course that is not the way one should fully evaluate a deal. It was a very good deal for the Leafs (with current and possible future dividends), but it has worked out quite well for the Ducks so far.

This is not the Gilmour deal, where the Leafs appeared to get the only useful players in the deal.

I say getting Beauchemim as a " Free " Agent means we got him for nothing and got a lot for him ... Those Ducks could have just kept him and he wouldn't then have cost them two assets to get him back .

The fact my post had to do with 2013 roster and not the history of Leaf trades which Shack was trying to be funny and post . WTF is your problem .. Shack is a big boy and can defend himself .. I don't get involved in your friggin issues and so you can do the same .. I am well aware if I post it's sunny you will post it's cloudy ..

My posts is we spend so much time on Kessel trade ie who won it that we are ignoring all the great trades that worked out clear cut which has made up this present roster which is 3-0 ..
