Yeah. They're generally not considered to be a good thing.
Actually, they are kind of funny. I once witnessed a bench clearing brawl between the Jays and Yankees. Not much of a fight, mostly guys holding onto one another trying to find an excuse not to fight.

The Hammer
all fights in other sports are wuss fights...I mean when pitchers charge the mound its quite comical. With basketball, punches seem to be just arms flailing, and the best image ever is Jeff Van Gundy holding on to Alonzo Mourning's leg. With football, they just seem to be straight arms to the face, whereas they dont really try to get each others helmets off like hockey.

You Sens Fans
You're just Playa Haters.
Give it up. Any friggin little thing you guys can use against the Leafs you use.
Don't you guys realize how pathetic you guys look. Look how badly your team let you down. Face it, become a Leafs Fan. You know you want to.
Go Leafs Go!!!

We all know the Leafs are going to be sent packing in the first round of the playoffs AGAIN. I remember the looks on their faces when they were trounced by Philly last year ..... still makes me laugh ..... hehehe. Quinn's face was redder than a stop sign ... lol. Corson and McCabe were crying like babies ..... hehehe. I'm using it as a screensaver.

Domi's got it coming next game. Going after Van Allen and gouging his eyes ??? What an asshole. No wonder he got 5 penalties over that (instigator, fighting major, unsportsmanlike, 10 minute misconduct and game misconduct). He's the stupidest player ever to strap on a pair of skates.

Domi may be a neanderthal but he's got more heart than the whole Sens team combined.
By the way, Jim Pansey. you called it:
Like last year, the only way the Sens are going to get rid of the Leafs in the playoffs is if some other team does it for them.

The Sens are praying that they are not matched up with the Leafs in the playoffs. The Sens and their hopeless fans will have to commit hara-kiri after another embarrassing playoff loss.

The majority of what has been talked about in this thread is just part of the game. I think we should just leave it at that.

Looking forward to the Feb 5th re-match.

Does anyone else think that this guy's name perfectly suits the team he cheers for ?

He was smart enough to know that the Sens suck and would lose by a mile anyways. Will Van Allen be able to find his way to the arena for the next game? Hehe

.......and both Muckler and Martin would love to have him on their team and he'd end out being the most popular player with the fans.

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
C'mon Pansey, if I remember correctly Bryan Berard had his eye gouged out, Antropov had his knee torn apart, and Sundin also missed games after playing Ottawa....and you call Toronto the dirtiest team in hockey!

Obviously you don't remember the Broad Street Bullies!

I just find it funny how Sens fans love to rub it in when they beat a team that, was effectively, St Johns, but when they face the real leafs they whine and bitch and complain and make excuses.

They bemoan that the Leafs are dirty but in the game that I watched the Leafs were given penalties for any untoward activities. Boohooo..Belfore was slashing...hey...he got two penalties....Booo Hoooo Domi beat our guy up....HE GOT A PENALTY. Booohoooo neuwandyke got pushed into our goalie and he also got a penalty.....but the best one was Booohoooo alfie got cross checked in front of the net and fell down...as he was getting up he realized the ref didn't see it so he fell again...you guessed it penalty.

Make all the excuses you want. Say the Leafs are dirty. You had 3 two man advantages and could only put the puck in the net on one of them. Given the bullshit call that put Berg in the box on that one, the ref should get the points for the goal.

If you feel the Leafs are dirty you need to recognize that they were aptly penalized for any infractions and Ottawa had their chances and, just like every time they've played the Leafs in the post season....they couldn't deliver

I know...Maybe we should have the Ottawa franchise moved down to the farm system until they learn to play with the big boys....better still, my nieces play in a peewee league where there's no contact allowed. Maybe Alfie would feel safer there

When you say "Sens fans" you are collectively putting all Sens fans in the same box. Maybe if you could "quote" the post you are responding to or identify the Sens fan(s) in question, it might be helpful.

I for one and Gramage, have sucked it up and clearly stated that Toronto was the better team lastnight. My Sens did not perform well. No whining, no excuses, they just didn't play well.

Thank you.

Fair enough scuba and I should actually clarify by not saying Sens fans and use the term "those blinded by rage, insanity and dissappointment" I'm sure there's a bunch of you true fans out there are legit. Even during the game last night a rabid Sens fan in our group looked at the calls on Berg and Neuwendyke and exclaimed "yeah those calls were bullshit"

The post is purely directed at the whiners on here that worship at the alter of bad hair known as Alfie and are blinded by their own insanity.

I for one recognize the Leaf's shortcomings. Hell the last time they won a cup was the year I was born and I lived through the dark days of the Ballard insanity years where Sittler tore the covetted 'C' off of his chest.

Normally I sit quiet on stuff like this I've just been reading the whining by certain folks here and I felt the need to throw my 2 cents in.

I couldn't agree more, galt. I urge both parties to stop making posts in these inflammatory threads - ie. "Leafs - the dirtiest team in hockey".
'Cause, as you're well aware, we could make lots of nasty thread titles this morning. :(

Actually out of the 23 Sens home games that I have attended this year I and other fans have really noticed a decline in the level of officiating. This leads me to wonder if they are getting their "Ref Cards" out of the bubble gum machine at the local A & P!

I grew up a Leaf fan, my favourite player was "Dave Keon". My first NHL game when I was a kid, was in 1973 Atlanta Flames 6 Toronto Maple Leafs 3. So I hear what your saying.
