Actually, that is what Cujo failed to do when he was a Leaf. Toronto would have went a little further in previous playoffs had Cujo been more aggressive in the cage. Too often opposing players would camp in the crease because he allowed them to do so. With Eddie, you better be willing to pay the price if you plan on invading his territory.

The Leafs showed some spunk tonight, especially after playing the prior evening.

I think the edition of Klee has been a wise one indeed. Not only is he playing some of his best hockey, but he has inspired his blue-line mates around him.

Still, we are only at the half point of the season...Lot's of hockey to play

There's a long history to clubbing guys in the crease. Billy Smith was an expert at it. Makes guys think twice about parking in there.

Revolver is right, slashing at the ankles is a practice which dates back for years. Where you cross the line as a goalie, is when you swing higher and break somebody's arm, just like Tom Barrashole (as an Ottawa Senator) did to Yanik Perrault. Perrault was circling the net and Barrassole made no attempt to play the puck but rather swung is stick and broke Perrault's arm. That was a couple of years ago, but it's still dirty.

What about that Carolina Panter--Carruth? who is serving time for manslaughter or Ray Lewis who was looking at some serious time behind bars acouple of years ago.

Well let's see how long it takes before Melyk bails out off Ottawa. Another small market team that will eventually go...Poof!! Kinda like the Sens playoff hopes. Don't hate the Leafs cause they are in first!!

And of course, violence and goonery is competly foreign to americans. j/k ... 1/4 of americans would be more than the population of canada so there must be a following down there.

Here and there
Didn't see the Leafs' game, but it would have been tough to beat the 2-1 nail-biter at the OHL game tonight in Barrie. Glad I went...

That didn't happen during the game...I think.

Hehehehehehehe, violence is a large part of sports, without it we would all be watching golf - Which is why it is so damn boring!

Hockey has not been a serious sport because of social factors. The majority of the US is situated in warm climates - Thus the opportunity to play the game in a recreational manner is greatly reduced. Sports such as basketball, football and baseball can be enjoyed year round in many states. Hockey for the most part, has been centralized in the northern states...Until recently...That trend has been changing in the last few years. Roller hockey has caught on in the warmer climates and the sport itself has garnered interest in those states. Witness the recent World Junior championships. The US actually trained a team for a long time to compete. Hockey has become a big sport in the southern US and will only increase in support over the next few years.

Will the "Violence" aspect of hockey subside? Chances are it will as the younger players adapt more to the use of face shields. But it is still the fastest game on earth and even if you eliminate the fighting, the hitting to some people will be considered violence.

Its funny Sens fans fail to mention when Alfredsson tries to cheap shot Sundin after he skated by him...bottom line Toronto won, come up with all these gay excuses all you want, if Ottawa had won 6-5 would you still deem Toronto the dirtiest team? Probably not...all I can say is cant wait til next Thursday (I think thats when they play again)

and I think Ottawa should be concerned with the crappy play of Lalime lately....
