It'd be an easy mark...Marner is not a big guy and he looks like he's 16 if not younger driving a Range Rover.

My bad. I somehow got Marner mixed up with the woman who fought off 3 carjackers at around the same time and fairly close to where Marner's car was stolen. Here below is my post from May 18, 2022.

Another attempted carjacking about 10 km's from Marner's. This time the woman car owner/driver fought them off and one of the 3 suspects was caught.
Question: Why didn't Marner fight off his carjackers?
There are many exampls of women (and men) who fought back.

When two guys have a gun(s) pointed at you and your fiancee, you make millions of dollars and they just want your vehicle, just give them the keys. That's the smart move 100% of the times.
It probably is the smart move but I wish he would have man up like the women In the links and fought those thieves.
My take is that those thieves were hired by organized crime to steal high end cars. They want the car but not to get into a fight.

Marner told them the Leafs are going to win the cup in 2023, the robbers died of laughter. As I typed this Marner scored a beauty.

Organized crime also hires drug addicts to shoplift from retail stores in exchange for their daily fix. My cousin who works for TPS says they are working a case to bust the crime ring.
Some people steal a car for a joyride or in the case of the shopping mall robbers from Montreal to use in a crime. My theory is that the dudes after Marner's car were organized crime in it for the money. I still think Marner (like the women in my links) could have scared them off if he had resisted
They use minors as well knowing the YPA won't punish them. The big guns don't do the dirty work.
