Well, turns out 1st goal was the winner.

Knies:
Took the bad pass from Wilson then drove to the net for the Nylander goal.
He deflected the shot for the goal that was disallowed.
He stopped the empty net goal attempt with his back check
Drew the penalty that resulted in the Marner goal.

No doubt. Took him 9 years to get here. Marner was good right from the get go.
In his 3rd year still on his entry level contract he had 94 pts.
Careers so far

Marner GP-594 G-186 A- 462 PTS-661 +111
D. Strome GP- 452 G- 122 A- 204 PTS- 336 -34

It ain't even close. Marner was a Mark Hunter pick, the other scouts all wanted Hanifin. That draft year was pretty sensational a number of the 1st round picks have turned out to be impact players in the NHL.

This would be a clean hit some years ago...
True, Scott Stevens turning Eric Lindros into Pippi Longsocks was brutal to watch. Lindros made Jethro Bodine look like a super genius, he never learned that you don't cross the blue line with your head down.

Am I missing something by ignoring the Loafs, Steve Dangle says they have a defense. Anthony Stolarz was a journeyman before this season.

Whatever happened to Anthony Shitloaf?

Stolarz has a 2.18 GAA and a .927 SV%
Bobrovsky, on the other hand, has a 2.89 GAA and .897 SV%. His backup has very similar stats if not the same. Yet Florida is the top team in the Atlantic Division. So if Bobrovsky catches fire like he did in the playoffs they'll really be dangerous.
Leafs have been without their captain for the last 6 games and are still winning.
Florida's captain Barkov has missed 8 games.

The Bruins with a .475% win and minus 21 goal differential (30th in the NHL) hold the last wild card spot. Should they have let Swayman hold out and sign Ullmark instead?

pts per game Boston is behind both Ottawa and NYI. I wouldn't consider them as holding the final wild card spot. They lost big to Columbus yesterday. Looks good on them. I'd like to see Ottawa make the playoffs over Boston. Imagine a Toronto Ottawa playoff series. Boston's strength was once their superline of Bergeron/Pasta/Marchand which was unstoppable. They don't have that anymore.
Boston's record of 8-9-3 is probably closer to the Flyers who are 8-9-2

Pitt is -25 goal differential. Looks good on Dubas.
