The first few shots on the Leaf goal will be interesting. Does the first Boston shot go in? Does a soft goal go in early for Boston?

I think the Leafs will score just enough to squeak by the Bruins unless there’s a complete goaltending meltdown.
I think that the goaltending is the wild card. For the Leafs, it's ranged from very, very good to less than mediocre and it seems to fluctuate on a game by game and goalie to goalie basis. Since Woll came back, Samsonov has had the most consistent periods of very solid play.

The pressure is on Boston, They lose to the Leafs which would be two 1st round exits in a row, will the Bruins be labeled as chokers? Yes, they chocked last year.
I happen to think that the pressure is even higher on the Leafs. If they fail to advance pass the first round for the fourth time in five years, there’ll be calls for breakup of the core. There’ll be a lot of criticism on Keefe, and perhaps on Shanahan too.

The core will stay intact as no team wants any of those contracts, Shanny and Keefe will be gone the pressure is on them.

Leafs slaughtered by the Bruins tonite in playoff. Sway man goalie of the Bruins has 35 saves. Matthews has 0 goals. He hasn’t scored anything several games in a row. They need NYlander back.

I felt like the Leafs were in total control and had the Bruins right where they wanted them.

But then the ref dropped the puck.

Similar to game 1 vs TB when they had Clifford Keefe's mandate was to start hitting above all else.
In that game a charged up Clifford got a major penalty for an illegal vicious hit.
In the first game vs Boston Reaves chases a hit leaving a 2 on 1 resulting in a goal against.
Boston on the other hand made their hits when they presented themselves.
Their sole focus was on making plays and positioning.
Leafs took too many penalties for a team with a very bad kill rate.

Leafs look like a totally different team without Nylander. They looked slow, fumbles, ineffective passing.
Their PP was terrible. Too methodical and slow. No shot threat without Nylander other than Matthews and he never shot. They could use McMann as well over Robertson. They really do need all hands on deck.
Samsonov needs to make some spectacular saves. He may not have been terrible but he wasn't great.
Without Nylander it could very well be a sweep.

I read an article on The Score that was titled “Groundhog Day for the Leafs”
I can’t think of a better analogy
