Passing off store-bought pie as your own isn't a great sin, so you only get a light smack of your bum.
I was thinking more along the lines of a severe tongue lashing, my tongue doing the lashing of course. Miss Croft, meet me in the kitchen for your punishment! And bring the whipped cream!! :)

Yoga Face, perhaps you didn't read the accompanying news story. This was not a resue from the earthquake, but from looters. A group of them were attacking other looters by throwing cinder blocks from the roof of a store. The boy was hit in the head, and every time he tried to stand up he fell down again. They were afraid he was going to be beaten and or killed by the looters so the newsman rushed in and grabbed the boy out of harms way.

After seeing some footage of the way those looters were going at each other with broken bottles, planks with nails in them, cinder blocks and other weapons, it would possibly take some courage to enter the fray to rescue the boy before he was further injured.

Fair enough. There are other threads for that. Lagavulin is trying to keep this an upbeat, positive thread, and we are attempting to help him. I'm sure you would have many agree with you, me included if you started another thread for that.

This is just a little innocent thread of tranquility, meandering through the big ugly outside world. Everyone is welcome to step inside Lagavulin's thread to get away from all the conflict elsewhere.

It's okay, Yoga Face has since realized the threat to the boy wsn't earthquake related as he first thought.

Now, could we please return to regular programmed scheduling, as in Lagavulin's happy thread?!?

Thank You.

Are you boys done squabbling? Thank you! The host will be very disappointed in you both!

I had to sneak out the back door for a while. I don't handle stress well. Now where were we? Oh yes ...

As 2010 has gotten off to such an inauspicious start -- what with Haiti and all -- happy Global Belly Laugh Day to all!!

Hey!! Nice doggie!! Down boy!!

That was no squabble, you don't want to see squabble. We were just getting the posts in sync, relax.

My hero today is the Haitian who hung on, buried for 11 days. I don't know what gods he prays to but it worked.

Hero of the Day

The men and women of all countries who went to Haiti in the last week to provide assistance.

Some are in uniform, some are not.
Some went under orders, some volunteered.
Some gave medicine, some gave water, all gave hope.

If u don't mind some twelve year old Jameson would be nice. Should I bring my own bottle?
It is somewhat embarrassing as a host but it would be better if you brought your own.
It appears that some of my friends had a discussion last night and in the process severely lowered the house supplies.

Ahhh yes, Happy Pie Day!!

Does anyone have a recommendation for some good Toronto pie?

This is my favorite. http://www.wandaspieinthesky.com/pies.html

I see that they offer classes.

So for my fellow Terbites who are occasionally looking for a place to take a civilian date, my I suggest a pie class.

It will really show a ladies true temperament, probably be a lot of fun, is fairly inexpensive by dating and clubbing standards ($100 each), and if the date does not work out you have a least one pie to eat (she may have hit you in the face with hers for ass grabbing another student)

To Ms. Grave's question, some excellent pies can be found in Nathan Phillip's square in the summer at the farmers' market. Not helpful for today but keep it in mind.
