How much weight did you lose just by removing sugar? But sugar was clearly my main killer. Losing the weight I did from simply removing sugar showed me that.

Are you really clueless to what you said previously?Right about what? I'm not here saying go do Keto, I'm here asking about experiences with it. I can't be right unless I'm trying to prove a point.
That's what I was referring to previously if you couldn't figure it out.Have you personally done Keto? Because this forum is strictly for people who have experience with Keto. Unless you have physically have done Keto, I'm not really interested in what you have to say. I can honestly tell you that it has nothing to do with calories. On my first days of Keto I was eating high fat low carb and I lost 8 pounds. That's me eating as much as I want as long as it follows the guidelines it works.

I'm "quoting you" because I'm responding directly to your comment. I'm not quoting you because you're saying something relevant or noteworthy. You clearly have an attitude problem. I'm not really interested in that either. Again, wasn't trying to be right about anything, I was simply sharing my experience on the Keto diet. Which once again, is what this forum is about. The KETO DIET.Are you really clueless to what you said previously?
Why are you still quoting me?
Move on and read the rest of the discussion, everyone else said the same thing I did.
It's okay to admit you were wrong, you obviously don't have much knowledge on this subject and that's fine. Live and learn.
That's what I was referring to previously if you couldn't figure it out.
i've read that depending on your eating habits, by cutting out sugar you can cut 300-500 (keep in mine that sugar is heavily present in all sauces, juices etc etc) calories a day via being careful re cutting sugar. How much weight did you lose just by removing sugar?
yes, but in moderation imho.Stevia is an amazing natural substitute for sugar![]()
With the sugar reduction, portion size and a couple of other little changes, about 30lbs.How much weight did you lose just by removing sugar?
I'm not being stubborn. I have recently discussed this topic with a personal trainer who specified that people, in general, need to stop counting calories. That's your prerogative though. I'm not telling anyone they should or shouldn't count calories. I'm not really here to discuss calories though. Just talking about the Keto diet and here to listen to people who have done it and their experiences.Lol.
You’re wrong.
It’s called the law of thermodynamics. If you eat more calories than your body needs, you will gain weight. It all ultimately comes down to the amount of calories you’re eating
You can’t out smart science girl. Stop being stubborn
Keto diet is similar to the Atkins diet, which focus on not eating foods high on carbs. I've tried the Atkins diet and it works. The longer you stay on it, the quicker you lose the pounds, my 8 pack never looked so goodI can honestly tell you that it has nothing to do with calories. Again. Stop being stubborn because you and your personal trainer are both wrong.I'm not being stubborn. haha who's really being stubborn though? You're the one trying to prove I'm wrong. I'm trying to prove nothing. I said, you are free to believe whatever you believe.Again. Stop being stubborn because you and your personal trainer are both wrong.
Yes, I've noticed that Keto is similar to Atkins, except Atkins is mostly about meat eating. Thankfully Keto is friendly for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Also, love your avatarKeto diet is similar to the Atkins diet, which focus on not eating foods high on carbs. I've tried the Atkins diet and it works. you will find your energy level will be low, so learn to balance the good carbs with protein once you've achieved your desired weight

Keto is based on science, you just don't understand it yet.Lol.

Correct in that the theory is the high fat will keep one satiated but and it's a big BUT, if you exceed your maintenance calories and go into a surplus you will not acheive weight loss regardless what diet you are using.Keto is based on science, you just don't understand it yet.
Carbs turn into fast sugars in your body, they are quick to digest and increase blood sugar.
High fat/low carbs makes you feel sated and you do not feel the need to eat as much.
On top of that, the high fats keep your blood sugar more consistent and you don't get as hungry as quickly.
So its not mandatory calorie reduction, its eating so that you feel that you don't need to eat so much.
In effect you will likely eat less because you aren't as hungry.
And whoever had kidney issues likely fucked up the diet and ate too much protein/meat and not enough vegetables.
Its not high protein, its high fat for a reason.
that's correct. caloric deficit is the overarching principle for weight lossCorrect in that the theory is the high fat will keep one satiated but and it's a big BUT, if you exceed your maintenance calories and go into a surplus you will not acheive weight loss regardless what diet you are using.
i understand that in keto the body looks for fats to turn into energy.. so you don't need to eat carbs that cause blood sugar swings and cravings which cause people to crash and burn.Frankfooter said:Keto is based on science, you just don't understand it yet.

Try it.and that's great and all, but if you eat too much bacon, you're still getting fat.
Exactly on all points.Things we all have to agree on for this conversation to have any sense:
A Ketogenic diet works by putting the body in ketosis do to the absence of carbohydrates. Then we can discuss other benefits, pros and cons.
Calories are all the same and equal by definition, a calorie is just the unit of heat energy. One calorie is defined as the heat energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius.
Regardless of the food source of your calories you have to be in a deficit to lose weight. This is not up to interpretation and is not a matter of opinions.
A good discussion would be calorie sources and the other attributes and roles they have in the body.
Furthermore..
Is cutting carbs in general enough for the average person to end up in caloric deficit and therefore lose weight? Sure.
Will they sustain a Ketogenic diet for the rest of their life? Most likely NOT.
Guess what happens when they reintroduce carbohydrates? The weight comes back. Is it because carbs are bad? NO ! It's because they put their body in survival mode, that's what ketosis is, and now the body will store even more fat as soon as it has the opportunity.
Let's talk science not personal opinions, this isn't like trying to decide what shoes look better on a person.
I'm sure someone will try just as some believe the world is flat.I dunno, logic and reason seldom work well here. I am hoping someone posts a rebuttal!
