I hope he's recovering well from his busted hip. He's a legit beautiful human being.

Kareem is wrong about just about everything he says:

1. He seems to be unaware that the right to express political views on personal time is very different from the rights anyone has to express themselves at work (there are no such rights). NBA players are at work when they are speaking to sports reporters or conducting demonstrations on the court.

2. Trump didn't ban Muslims, he banned Muslims from countries that are the hotbeds of terrorism and anti-Americanism.

3. Trump had contempt for people who attended his rallies in order to disrupt them, not people of any particular racial background.

I could go on.

It seems Kareem's only real talent was being tall enough that he never even had to jump to dunk. Frankly, I hated his "sky hook". It seemed to reduce the game to a repetitive boring contest of executing the same shot (which couldn't be blocked) over and over again.

Here
1) In the good old us of a one is free to express one views weather at work or not its call free speech, just like the maga moron politicians do, trump was working for the American people when he spouted his lies and hate speeches when he didn't like someone.

2) trump attacked people who who attended his rallies because they're a threat to his ego and stacked people around him tomake him look like he's racially tolerant when in reality he's an elitist, racist pig.

3) And yes please go on the more you spout this shit the more foolish you sound.

4) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was not only a legendary athlete but a generous philanthropist and supporter of basic human rights. Where as trump and the rest of the magga cult contributed nothing but hate, pettiness, racism, and the erosion a basic human rights and the American system of justice and the government itself. The only good that has come out of the magga movement ( if you can call it that) is it has exposed just how gullible and stupid such a large percentage of the American people are.

But I'm sure Boebert, MTG, Gaetz, or Gosar have a background that means their contribution to politics is essential. Being an NBA great does not make his opinion any different than anyone else but it also doesn't mean you can simply dismiss what he says. For that matter, Trump has no credentials other than being born rich and doing a good job of promoting himself.

But it's nice of you to understand that companies firing employees for their public statements is not a woke agenda or cancel culture but rather the companies looking out for their own interests.

I'm sure you enjoyed basketball better when the players played (looked?) like this.

When you are a businessman operating a multi-billion dollar business you need to have some comprehension as to how the economy works, and how even foreign policy affects the domestic economy.

As a basketball player, all you need to know is how to throw a ball into a hoop (in the NBA, for the best shooters, defence is optional!). And you only have to get it right 56% of the time (that's Kareem's career shooting percentage!).

Being a businessman is an infinitely better background to form and evaluate public policy, particularly as it relates to the economy or foreign relations.

If I wanted advice from a basketball player it's more likely to be about what are the best basketball shoes, or what are the most roomy cars to drive in, or how to pay off gold diggers.

I think an auto assembly line worker probably has a better working knowledge of the economy than a basketball player.

As to politicians, at least they had to make their poltical views known and get elected by voters. Nobody voted for the political views of basketball players.

You're just dead wrong on this one. Having a right to free speech doesn't mean that you can't agree to forego that speech, particularly in exchange for money or employment.

That's what employees do when they accept employment, which includes their agreement that the employer is entitled to manage the workplace. Employees agree to restrict their political speech while at work on the instruction of their employer, according to that employer's view of the best interests of his business. If you never understood this, there's probably a number of basic legal principles that you don't understand.

Nobody likes a party crasher. Don't believe me? Find me anyone who WOULDN'T deal with someone who disrupts their rally.

3) And yes please go on the more you spout this shit the more foolish you sound.
At least I can make my numerical points in the right order. LOL! What kind of fool can't!

KAJ was a legendary basketball player. He did manage to throw a ball into a hoop 56% of the time! He has contributed to various social causes. Good for him.

But he's never made a significant contribution to the American economy. Trump has. He's never interacted with government regulators to try and make a business work. Trump has. He's never had to make deals and compromises with politicians and bureaucrats who didn't share his politics. Trump has.

The only gullible people in the Trump/MAGA debate are those deluded types who think that there isn't a significant number of stupid people who support ALL parties and ALL points of view. If you drank the Koolaid that opposing Trump makes you smart, you've been duped.

I completely agree with you on ^ that point. However, it's all in the percentages. The hard core maga supporters of trump are about 30% of voters. I will hypothesize that an equal number ie. 30%, are hard core dems. But the difference is basically that if you meet a hard core maga and get introduced to their family, way to many of them will say:

"This is my brother Earl ....... and this is my other brother Earl" (for those that might know where this line comes from )

How many times has Trump declared bankruptcy? Dutch sounds like Trump U grad. Trump is nothing but a grifter and a con man whose only talent is sucking dumb rednecks into believing he's not a total asshole and moron.

Would you rather take advice from a reality show host?

Yes, even if he wasn't also a successful businessman. Basketball players know literally nothing.

You don't understand the first thing about business. You subtract the losses from the wins. If the result is a positive number, you are a successful businessman. Trump easily passes that test

The Body Shop recently went into creditor protection. Are they idiots as well? They made hundreds of millions if not billions while they operated.

My favourite all-time basketball player and his on-court performance is just a tiny bit of why I feel this way.

Talk about being wrong.

Update for you. You seem to be unaware that Kareem has been retired from basketball for decades. But thanks for confirming that you agree he has every right to say what he does.
