Some reporters/broadcasters are speculating that as the selection of pitchers decreases closer to the deadline, the Jays may flip Soriano.

Jeff Hoffman just got traded to the twins. Good riddance… This guy can only pitch clean innings and can't go anywhere near the 9th... totally useless… Goodbye Jeff.

Me too. Soriano has some good stuff. Give him Pete Walker as a coach and there is a chance he turns into a reliable #2.
There are a number of reasons why the Los Angeles Angels are in 30th place overall. Some team owners aspire to win World Championships. Others just want to be able to play golf with Mike Trout after he retires.

Soriano also leads the AL in walks allowed.
I'm just listening to Sid Seixeiro really lean into Ross Atkins about dealing such a good prospect for an arm when we have such a horrible offense… He has a point.

I think you can get something for Schiezer as a FA so you can keep him but what about Bieber?

We did not get a lot from what I see

We got a lot of work to do in off season

Springer never got traded as a right handed DH with his performance this year was not in the trading cards

I thought Beiber would go with his last few starts

And not to beat a dead horse lol, but they also just traded Adam Macko for some utility player. So we focused on dealing Teoscar Hernandez instead of extending him for no goddamn reason. It's now official signed, sealed and delivered…

Sorry guys not trying to go down that road again lol

Shatkins loves their mid level infielders and utility players.

Hey, Philip. Looks both our teams, my Mets, your AL team Jays, were each sellers from the cellars.
I would really like someone to do the math and calculate how much Ross Atkins has spent with players that are either not producing or not playing. Guerrero, Santander, Ponce. Berrios etc. etc. like what are we talking here over $100 million? Hard to imagine he's not on the hot seat currently. Not to mention both Atkins and Schneider did nothing but bullshit defending Jeff Hoffman as the teams closer until the writing was on the wall.

Had they given AA the same budget back in 2016 Toronto would've had a parade by now. I think other than free agent pitchers this groups has no eye for talent.

Players are eligible to receive a Qualifying Offer once in their career. Scherzer received his from the Tigers after the 2014 season, before he signed as with the Washington Nationals.

Shane Bieber has never received a Qualifying Offer. His $16 Million salary for 2026 is the player option amount from his Cleveland contract.

The 2026 QO was marginally above $22 Million. It's calculated as the average of the top 125 annual salaries League-wide. See post #647 for details about what the Jays might receive if they tender a QA to Bieber, and he signs somewhere else.

The Braves made the playoffs in 7 of the last 10 years, and they also won the World series in 2021 😬

Getting rid of AA is the dumbest thing Rogers could ever have done
