Manoah's Mother looks like she's got good stuff. Give her a try in long relief.

Baseball is a funny game. One weekend you are swept by the Red Sox and the next you sweep one of the best teams in baseball.

they got to dump gurriel but Moreno is the top catching prospect while Varsho is solid he shows no all star potential
which is what I would demand for Moreno
And if your demands were not met by any team, would you have kept all 3 catchers or take your best offer?

None of us know what was discussed between Atkins and any of the teams teams he had talks with.

would have given up Jansen
He got the game winning hit today.

I love El Gran Capitan, he's only a year older than Moreno. Lightning doesn't usually strike twice, the Jays have never had a catcher with his level of defensive skills. The last catcher I saw who could throw out base runners like that was Rick Dempsey.
Did you ever see Yadier Molina play?

Kirk is a veritable gazelle. LOL

Vlad is gonna get a talking to not running hard to first when you gotta score

could they fine him? Cant make him sit a game

no excuse to not run all out in that scenario

I wonder if a teamate will chance talking to the superstar.
Sit Vlad and Bo for his horrible base running and Chapman for his 2 errors. They all need to concentrate more.

It looked like one of his typical line drive hrs, I thought it was out. No need for further discipline, he made the "me bad" gesture to the dugout. Schneider isn't shy about fining players when they fuck up, Vlady has been dinged twice for being an Eric Lindros.

Yadier Molina played in the NL didn't see him as much. Dempsey was a Jays killer breaking a young team's heart in 83 with three crucial pick offs. He signed with the Dodgers in 86. I didn't know he was Thurman Munson's backup in 76. The question now is El Gran Capitan as good as Jason Veritek?

I like the pitching match-ups against the Yankees...we take 3 of 4! Go Jays Go.
Have to agree with the starting pitching advantage assessment.

My Yankees are going with an opener tonight in Jimmy Cordero and then will most likely replace him with Jhony Brito. Brito is a rookie who's had a tough time lately and Cordero is a journeyman.

Manoah usually dominates the Bronx Bombers so the Jays should be heavily favoured here.

Yankees to watch out for...Anthony Rizzo has been their best player thus far. He leads the team in every major offensive category. Judge is a few games back from an injury and appears to be back to form. Centre fielder Harrison Bader missed the first 30 games with injury but has been ripping it up in his return. Gleyber Torres and DJ LeMahieu have been steady thus far. Rookie shortstop and top prospect Anthony Volpe has shown signs of brilliance at times. With 6 hrs and 13 stolen bases but is striking out at an unacceptable rate.

Pitching wise Gerrit Cole started like a house on fire but has fallen off lately. Nestor Cortes who has been amazing the last few years has struggled. Clarke Schmidt shouldn't be in the majors. Domingo German has been the best starter in the last few weeks by far. Their back end is what has been winning games for them although they don't have a clear cut closer. Luis Severino is back with the team and finished his rehab assignment. They need him badly.

Bottom line is that the Yankees are fortunate to be 4 games above .500. I'd be happy with a split here against the surging Jays.

The Yankees are a different team when Giancarlo Stanton is in the lineup. He's been brittle since he first donned pinstripes.

Manoah is not as sharp in his control and his bite of his curve ball as he was last year

He is talented enough to overcome this in some games but too inconsistent to be anything but a number 4 starter

His arm is still there so he should get his form back but when?

KUkUCHI CANNOT BE EXPECTED to take Manoah spot over the long term so we need Manoah
back to last years form sooner rather than later

Is it possible for Manoah to be sent down if his number get a little worse? I realize the leash is long with him and there's not much better in Buffalo, but after tonight his ERA is 5.40 and walks are getting ridiculous. Like if he has two more bad starts in a row his ERA would be somewhere near 7. At some point you would think someone in Buffalo might have a chance at being a bit better while Alex tries to work out his mechanical issues in AAA.

Not much down there. The Bisons are pretty much already out of it at 10 1/2 behind Norfolk (Orioles). Last place Rochester (Nationals) are only 2 games behind them going into a series in Buffalo that starts tonight.

Ya I know that there’s not much down there, but manoah literally threw half his pitches for balls last night. I have to think if he has two more starts this bad, they would at least have bring in someone that can throw strikes. I don’t think it’s going to get that point as I think even if he pitches a hair better he stays, but 4 innings with 7 walks and the rest of his of line like he had last can’t be better then what our best Bison pitcher can do.

My Yankees have at least a split in this series.

Judge hits another monster shot breaking a sign in the stands....Wow.

Don't know what going on with Herman. That not the first time he's been scrutinized for having substances on his hand. He's putting our team in a bad situation here. He's going to get a 10 game suspension for this. We'll have to go one pitcher short for awhile. He's got to be more aware that they are checking him.

Gausman is pretty impressive. Great outing. That splitter is just nasty stuff.

I think if he continues this way the better option would be a "stint" on the IL with "shoulder inflammation". Keep him with the big club and let Pete Walker work with him for a week or so. This allows you to open up a spot to have an opener go in his rotation spot, possibly Pearson. Also keeps him on the MLB roster thus allowing him to keep his MLB pay, when he gets back on track it may make a club friendly extension possible down the road.

I was very disappointed in Anthony Bass today. None on, two out in the 9th, Judge up, with all the crap going on in the series you stick up for your team there and take your shot. 96 to the ribs!!! All the shit going on between the Jays and Yankees in this series and the only ones sticking up for the team are Walker and Schneider. This team is softer than the two down the street.

Yeah I was thinking something that to, but I'm just saying if he doesn't get this figured out in a month or so, they might not have any other options.

Maybe sending him down where there is no pressure so he can mess around with his stuff in a real game but
he has had a over a year to figure it out with quality pitching coaches . Does not look good like you expect him to different in the next few games?
Why?

I'm not sure what your asking.
