Berios had a quality start

He seems a very good number 4 starter where you pitch quality STARTS 2 OUT OF 3 TIMES

I AM WORRIED ABOUT OUR NUMBER 1 AND 2 STARTERS more than the rest of the staff

Our relief is average and not champion quality

Our offence is quality but we have yet to suffer injuries to anyone and they will happen
Why is it that the Blue Jays FEEL LIKE they are the only team that do not have those high Velo bullpen guys? 101mph or 102mph (but really it would have been 95mph in 1995).

I mean Romano and his 97 is ok (would have been 92 in 1992), but I would just like to see some real flamethrowers back there.

no fuck that they suck!

Lol.
LOL, indeed.

And Bo's hair is still flowing. And Belt has been on fire. Hitting about .215 now.

So they just swept the team that had the best record in the NL. They were 9 over heading into Boston. Now I believe they are 8 over.

Kikuchi now 5-0. Cy Young anyone?

My boycott of this team lasted about one day lol. Very good game today. Kikuchi looks dynamite. Varsho with his new leg lift in his batting stance looks fabulous. Varsho yay finally!!

Pirates are not a good team and are coming down to earth

Tampa may fold and a couple of other division teams may come out
of nowhere and challenge for WC but from todays outlook I am predicting the odds
of Jays going to the Big Show

Looks like Tampa Bay is odds on to win division so the Jays
are fighting for one of three Wild cards with the other three east division teams
and we all look evenly matched so the odds of getting a WC are 3 in 4

4 Wild Card teams have reached the Big Show since the 2012 WC expansion

that something like 4 out of 60

so the math is 3 divided by four times 4 divided by 60
which means a 5 % chance we go to the Big Show

Did I do that right ?

Throwing still an issue for Bo. Bullpen not looking good. Romano not really closer material. Only two pitches and neither is exceptional.

The problem is the Jays refuse to sign a huge long term contract for closer so they sign
mediocore relievers hoping one will catch fire

Jays hope Chad Green will fill that gap but he is a flyer coming off tommy john

will not be ready until august

If Garcia and Romano would have come into game, they would have wasted a masterful performance by Bassitt.

Ray Hudson would say that Chris Bassitt performance was magisterial.

Another magisterial pick off by El Gran Capitan at 3rd base to stanch a potential rally. Is there a better catcher in the Majors?

Those losses to Philly were a tough pill to swallow. But that performance last night by Bassitt was incredible. His curve ball was insane. If we can ever get Manoah straightened out this rotation will win us a lot of games. Yes have some concerns in the bullpen but I think both Yimi Garcia and Anthony Bass will normalize. I'm not a Pop guy. It would be really great if Pearson could get consistent he could be a great set up guy or even closer.

Wth a rested bullpen Schneider let Bassit go through the games best offence 4 times in a close game
THIS IS CRUCIAL AS THE MORE TIMES BATTERS SEE A PITCHER THE MORE THEY CAN HIT
HIM AS THEY FIGURE HIM OUT

That means he does not trust the bullpen

Forget Bassits first start and here is the pecking order of our starters

Bassit 5-1 with a era 1.9 which are Cy Young stats
20 walks he puts a lot of runners on base
then leaves them there, so far, but this may be his downfall
he is much better than expected if you forget his first start

kikuchi is 5-0 era 3.3
8 walks he looks surprisingly real but time will tell

Gausman is 2-3 era 3.3 he is a hard luck pitcher with a couple of really bad starts screwing up his era
and deserves a better record
7 walks

berreios 3-3 era 4.9
8 walks

manoah 1-3 era 4.8
25 walks
he puts a lot of runners on base
and, unlike BASSIT, they score

bassit and kikuchi and Gausman are the big top three in that order with berrios a
quality picher for number four and manoah a decent number 5 who will throw some
inconsistant quality starts

with no one in a rested bullpen you can trust

That is why they traded
Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Gabriel Moreno to Diamondbacks
for Daulton Varsho

instead of Captain Kirk even though they could have got more for Kirk

I love El Gran Capitan, he's only a year older than Moreno. Lightning doesn't usually strike twice, the Jays have never had a catcher with his level of defensive skills. The last catcher I saw who could throw out base runners like that was Rick Dempsey. And he glides across the basepath like Devon White.

I agree to keeping Kirk but should of got more for Moreno as a top prospect in baseball than a .230 hitter
with some pop and speed and good defense

they got to dump gurriel but Moreno is the top catching prospect while Varsho is solid he shows no all star potential
which is what I would demand for Moreno

i would have given up Jansen as Moreno looked ready for back up role

I think Kirk has the potential base stealing chops of Rickey H. It just needs time to bring out.

Sweep!!!

Very sloppy game offensively and defensively, but a win is a win.

Last night the closer from Markham was Victor Romano - not Mark Lemongello. Today the Braves defense looked like a bunch of Lemongellos. On the pop up that loaded the bases, Kevin Pillar should have made the catch, the CF wasn't paying attention. Of course Chapman was going to score, Pillar's arm hasn't gotten any stronger.

The Braves can have a nice snack on the flight back to Atlanta.

Vlad is gonna get a talking to not running hard to first when you gotta score

could they fine him? Cant make him sit a game

no excuse to not run all out in that scenario

I wonder if a teamate will chance talking to the superstar.
