Yeah they bitched out with the removal of Alomar though didn't they?

Alomar has some skeletons in his closet, then did some disrespectful shit, and the Blue Jays finally distanced themselves from him. Good riddance.

I’m more concerned if they’re going to even make the playoffs at this point. I can’t believe they lost today and they’re going to lose this series.

What excites me most about the Bautista induction yesterday into the Level Of Excellence, is Buck Martinez asked him in the broadcast booth, if he ever would consider getting back into baseball….he replied “I would love to I'm always keeping my ears perked up to see if there’s a way for that to happen because I have such a passion for the game.”

That has new hitting coach written all over it. They need to make this move right now. He has great awareness of hitting mechanics.

Joey Bats would make a great hitting coach , as hitting did not come naturally for him, he had to work at it for a few years before becoming a feared HR hitter.

Players in any sport that had natural talent do not make good cosches, eg. Wayne Gretzky.

José Bautista speaks a lot about his hands being ready and his timing etc etc. He is very astute when it comes to hitting mechanics. If the Blue Jays crap out this year, Atkins is gone and I would love to see coaching changes. Also BRING BACK GIBBY.

There are many exceptions... Bill Russell, Lenny Wilkins, Toe Blake, Lou Boudreau, Joe Torre, Gil Hodges, Pete Rose, Tom Landry, Mike Ditka...

It will be less common in the future because of players' salaries. Back in the day, even the stars were paid so little that they all needed second jobs in the off season, like somebody today in the CFL.

There were tons of guys who knew a lot about their sport, they were good at it, but not great. Often they had high school education, or less. They were willing to spend years in the bus leagues working their way up through the levels, because they weren't qualified for better paying jobs. A guy who made eight figures for multiple years probably isn't going to take a $50K a year job managing or coaching in the New York-Penn League to start, but a career AAA player who got a whiff of The Show just might.

What IS true is that 'naturals' like Ted Williams aren't necessarily good teachers, and many of them won't take guy from some punk kid with a fraction of their talent, being paid several fold more.

Totally off topic… I wonder how Bautista’s marriage is going. Lol. His wife didn’t look too happy during the ceremony. Maybe that’s just my imagination.

Not watching the Jays as I have the Yankees on but it looks like they had another good outing from Ryu.

Their starting pitching looks solid. That's a major key to success.

I would be shocked if they didn't make the postseason.

Was that Eddy Encarnación on the jays bench today ? would love to see him be part of the coaching staff hopefully provide some hitting wisdom to Vladdy Jr.

Yankees give up 5 in the bottom of the 9th and lose to the Marlins 8-7.

It was misery watching this meltdown. YES broadcasters Paul O'Neill and Michael Kaye were speechless.

On the Jays front..How long before Edwin is added to the level of excellence? He was my favourite player there for awhile.

It was, I didn’t even notice that.

Now we just need Joey Batts to be the official hitting coach.

Glad to see Varsho had a career high 5 RBI's today. Hopefully, he's made some adjustments to his swing and can build from today's game. Great defense, it's past time to get his offense going.

His homer was his 14th of the season, which made me think with the significant reduction in Blue Jay power, does anyone think there will be a Jay with 30 homers this year? With Bo on the IL for the last couple of weeks, I can't see anyone hitting 30. I'm not so sure there will be a Jay with 25 homers this season.

You know what we felt like when the Jays blew the lead against the Dodgers a few weeks ago. Misery loves company.
