What are you looking for out of your 4th outfielder???
"Springer, the 2017 World Series MVP, played in all 162 games in 2016 but has dealt with several injuries in years past. He sustained a concussion and later a fractured wrist and missed two months in 2015, spent time on the IL with left quad discomfort in 2017 and missed 10 games last year when he sprained his left thumb."

His replacement when (often) George is on the injury list should be at least able to hit for a decent average and a decent defensive outfielder. A Jackie Bradley type outfielder, if available. Someone who is decent but not good enough to be a 1-2-3 outfielder.

And you have it with Merrifield.

All I’m going to say is, watch the year Cody Bellinger is going to have with the Cubs. I’ll bet the farm on a good year.

This might explain some of the Jays' recent transactions. They're currently just over the luxury tax limit. I think these mlb(dot)com factor in the salaries of arbitration-eligible players. Hernandez and Gurriel might both have received significant increases, and the Jays would have had to pay luxury tax in addition.

I can't see Kiermaier pulling shit like that on Daulton Varsho more than once.

Jays fans will forget Teoscar Hernandez pretty quickly. Varsho plays football on a baseball diamond, but unlike Kirk Gibson, Kelly Gruber or Brett Lawrie, he doesn't have chicken bones. He's exactly the type of player Toronto fans love in any sport, even when he's not putting up the numbers. I expect that, a year from now, his offensive stats will look similar to a good Jays season from Joe Carter.

I liked Gabe Moreno, and I hope he thrives in Arizona. Whenever two teams both think that they won in a trade, they are more likely to trade with each other again.

Jays sign Brandon Belt to be a proper back up for Vlad. Some writer predicted this over a month ago. He had an off year last year with injuries but he has an OPS of over .800 for his career. One year deal for about 9.5M

I'll have to read more.

You'll bet the farm?... Did you up the stakes in our bet? ;-)

Hey, btw, you might enjoy this YT video I saw recently on the rise and fall of Bellinger (and Yelich):

Cool video and very interesting that he would compare those two players. Quite similar.

LOL yes the farm and the car.

Fuck this guy. Never liked him, and this confirms it. He was great back then, now not so much. Hope he doesn't start for us, and just ends up being a bench player.

I have no idea what your "hope" is all about. He's our starting centre fielder so I'm not sure what you think will happen that he ends up being a bench player.

KK is probably the kind of guy that you hate when he's on the other team but love his doggedness when he's running down fly balls for your team. (Not so much when he's leaving guys stranded on base every game. LOL.)

BTW, isn't it an unwritten rule that the centre fielder has priority over either of the other fielders if he wants to go for the ball?
