37 was Luke's chain gang number in the movie Cool Hand Luke. I don't know if that's the reason why Stieb chose the number.
Stieb was so badass lol. When i was a kid, he was my hero. Him and Clemens. (Ya i know but i choose to "missremember" the Mitchell report)

I really can't say I am loving Schneiders management of the bullpen.

Watch out where the Yankees go and don't you eat that yellow snow.

Gausman had his stuff but I only got to see the 6th inning dingers.

Pitchers in general are a nasty bunch. I remember the Montreal Expos classy broadcast of Dave Van Horne and Don Drysdale. The later seemed so cool and affable, then I found out he was a notorious head hunter when he pitched for the Dodgers.

So why does Vlady Jr hate the Yankees. Sr was supposed to sign with the Yankees back in 2002, George Steinbrenner preferred Gary Sheffield and over-ruled his GM. Ken Griffey Jr wouldn't play for the Yankees for much the same reasons. In the 80's Steinbrenner was a raving maniac, in the four years Sr played for them, he was often a target of the owner's wrath. Steinbrenner couldn't help himself, he was a sports entrepreneur who also financed Broadway shows.

Hopefully he can find the strike zone.
i was at the game tonight. Saw Pearson and his first appearance. He looked good. A touch wild. Topped out at 99.7mph. Nice hard curve.

He's a guy that needs to stay down in the zone. He really did well keeping the ball low in 2021 when he was effective. Hopefully he will have the same approach this time around.

Nate Pearson needs a good sports psychologist. If he learns to clear his mind he could become a Cy Young candidate.

Were you (or did you) sitting or have a chance to see the new outfield sitting/standing area?

I like how you can move around and also catch replays on the monitors that are broadcasting the game (the jumbo-tron has shitty replays).

Stieb is my all time favorite Jays player. Did you ever read his book Tomorrow I'll Be Perfect?

I went to the game today

8 to 0 beating of White Sox whose pants go all the way
to the shoes so you cannot see the white sox, LOL.

Springer got hit by a pitch again like WTF? It must be his fault to get hit so often.

My take on the redesign is thumbs up

The mesh protecting the fans is invisible.

You have to sit in your designated seat but can wander the stadium

BUT YOU CAN SIT IN THE SOCIAL ZONE ON TOP LEVEL

There are 5 small bars where you can sit in leather chairs while out of view of the field but can watch
on tv screens or you can watch on tables over looking the field if you can get them

The reconfiguration of the fence is very well done.

More triples as the ball takes awkward bounces off the angled fence
and leaping catches in center over the lowered fence to steal a homer

for a 20$ ticket it is the best game in town

Th new rules shorten the game by 30 minutes but NOW there are too many rules

so

I thought of a new idea for a rule

If you get to first that is one run to second that is two etc

a steal of second could win the game

Blue Jays started the season 1-3. Since then, the are 15-6.

AL as a whole are 4 games under .500 (not gonna tell you what the NL is at).

AL East is 33 games over .500 and the next best is the NL Central at 9 games over. The worst is the AL Central at 27 games under.

The Jays have the best catching tandem in the Majors. No chance Atkins wanted to break it up.

Both are excellent at managing pitcher with Jansen a slightly better pitch caller. Kirk may currently be the best defensive catcher in baseball, his pick off ratio must be extremely high. It was the law of averages for Atkins, so he traded Moreno.

Also El Capitan runs the bases like a graceful gazelle - reminiscent of Devon White.
