My opinion is he finally saw the stupidity of belonging to terrorist organizations and finally saw the light and joined the civilized side
But it is not the civilized side. It is the uncivilized side committing genocide against a defenseless people. Born in horrible conditions under Israeli oppression, seeing that his own organization was up to no good and with no hope of his life amounting to anything except as a trapped prisoner under the Israelis, he used his position as a Hamas founder's son, sold his soul and got the fuck outta dodge. He is like Samuel L Jackson's character in Django Unchained lol. I guess considering the circumstances, good for him. But his commentary on this issue, is bought and paid for.

The opinion of the silent majority of the west, and infact both on the right and the left, is one of default racism towards Muslims and 3rd world countries of the world in general.
It does not matter what crime is committed, and how blatantly those crimes are committed towards people, as long as the perp is perceived to be "European", western nations will support them, rationalize them, moralize them all the while attempting to lecture those 3rd world countries. Gaza is one such example. The reaction of the European states to Ukrainian vs Syrian refugees is another example. There are many more.
That is precisely the reason for protests, student protests etc. because they attempt to create awareness and change opinions. It is a painfully slow process, to break through implicit biases, institutional biases, cultural biases, media narratives, short attention spans etc. But it will get there eventually.

That was exactly what my comment was about. I am not saying there isnt overwhelming support for Israel in the west. After all if there wasn't this genocide would have already ended. I am saying the overwhelming support is due to default racist narratives and attitudes towards Muslims, Islam and the 3rd world.
