That’s according to the latest annual survey from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) – a prominent Jewish advocacy organisation – that conducted the survey just as Israel launched its war on Gaza.
The survey released today found almost half of American Jews have altered their behaviour during the past year to avoid being perceived as Jewish. That included changing what they wore, what they posted online or where they went.
The number of American Jews who say they feel less secure in the US jumped 22 percent from last year’s survey.
The survey comes as Jewish and Muslim civil rights and advocacy groups have reported large increases in harassment, bias and physical attacks against their members in the wake of Israel’s war on Gaza.
