who cares what people think about a ceasefire (which would only benefit Hamas). Israel dropped 1.5MM as in million leaflets, sent hundreds of thousands of text msgs telling people to get the heck out of the north. Why? bc when somebody comes into your sovereign state, massacres 1200 of your people and kidnaps 239, than they have to deal with the consequences. Abu Marzul keeps bragging that they are in the tunnels and the responsibility for the population is on the UN. For anybody who is calling for a ceasefire. Can i ask something? why is there no world demand that this sick Hamas releases the hostages? what do they need a 10 months old? or an 85 year old lady?
I guess you forgot the Pittsburg shul killing, the shooting at schools in Montreal, killing in California- there is a LONG list. Jews feel under attack. Nobody should minimize it. While Im against any anti Islam in general (anti radical islam is legit) to compare acts against Muslims who are 25% of the world population to attacks against jews who are 0.2% is a joke. I guess you are so ignorant that you need some education: in Israel ALL signs are in Hebrew AND Arabic. Arabic is an official language. The supreme court has an arab muslim judge, doctors, lawyers, nurses, tech. Last gov had a member of Government who represents the Arabs, just like plenty of MP's who are arabs and muslims. Is Israel a perfect country? heck no. You want to compare to Canada? during Covid demonstrations against Gov policies resulted in Trudeau making martial law, freezing funds and stopping free speech. In Israel? for 37 weeks straight! (as in EVERY SINGLE week), hundreds of thousands went to the streets to object gov policies. in march, in one night 650,000 went to the streets. When was the last time Canadians (who are the most passive and hate to exercise democracy beyond a vote) went our in such numbers (you need to have 2mm canadians out on the streets).
I will add one point about this conflict. If you understood Israelis and their mentality, you would understand that if the "Palestinians" adopted a Gandhi type of approach they would have a country. Bigger, more prosperous and better than whatever they were ever hoping. The prob? they dont want a state, they want Israel! and this is where the discussion ends. Im all for a solution. However and sadly, there is none.

correction: Hamas is NOT an alien to Gaza. Hamas is an idea, an ideology. They were elected in Gaza. There is a reason why the PA refused to hold an election, its bc Hamas would win. Hanan Ashrawi admits that the majority of Palestinians support Hamas. In Gaza Hamas is the education system, its the health system, its the governning body. So to try to say, well poor Palestinians, there are about 1-1.5mm of them bw Gaza and west bank who support Hamas. Go watch the film of hostages ocming into Gaza, the celebrations were done by "common people". Sharing candies. No more candies now that Israel started to talk arabic...Those were just guns fired. These were actual deaths.

Most everyone calls for a release of hostages. But you are talking about a terrorist group. "Calling" for anything is meaningless with them. Also people who do not call for release of hostages do not do it because they do not want the focus to shift from the Palestinian civilians and the war crimes by Israel they are currently enduring, and have endured over the decades. This is used as a "distraction" tactic by people, (like shack here for example), to somehow force you to shift focus and prioritize Israeli hostages over Palestinian civilians. But the truth of the matter is, the Palestinian civilians matter more than the Israeli hostages, by virtue of being more in number and by virtue of having suffered decades of oppression.
If only you knew Israel as well as I do.
