I received my first fur coat at 10 years old, it was a hand-me-down and I wore it until it was waaaayyy to small. I bought vintage furs thru my teenage years and when my children were young. They are warm, durable and versatile (I used them as blankets for the babies once they wore out). I have never once had anyone hassle me about wearing fur and I wear it from October thru May. I do believe in ethical farming practices and I always check if I am buying from a dealer. Canada is freezing in the winter and I don't care where you live, it's cold enough for fur. I respect peoples right to choose not to wear fur, not to wear leather or eat animal product but I am not willing to stop eating bacon and eggs for breakfast, burgers for lunch and steak for dinner; all while wearing a fur coat with leather boots.
I can get into all the reasons why I support native fur trading rights, ethical fur production and the right to wear fur but it's late...
That said, Artmann...Friday works for me!
