So a newspaper article stated that this 21 year old, I won’t mention his name but he might be an international student? Was out on bail now, if these judges don’t grow a set it will be a revolving door policy. It stated that he is facing $305,000 charge and another robbery in Oakville must be for that. I think society should be able to sue judges for incompetence, I know that won’t happen I’m on Crown Royal wishful thinking I hope
Leniency will continue to lead to these tragedies. I don't understand why we value the lives of criminals over the law abiding.

The police clearly don’t value the lives of the law abiding over the criminals because they put everyone’s safety at risk by continuing to chase the suspect after being told to end the chase. I would argue that leniency towards the police when they fuck up is the issue at hand here but hey what do I know? I’m not the one licking the police’s boots every opportunity I get.

Are you implying I am? That was a weirdly aggressive way to end your post. But maybe it was just a general statement and I'm reading too much into it.
I'd agree that it was the wrong decision to continue the chase by ground, and if they really were ordered off and ignored that order, they should be put through the wringer.

My point was that lenient judges are making our society more dangerous.

The wrong-way U-Haul van crashed into a smaller vehicle carrying the family and infant. That was likely a secondary incident.
The van was split in half. The back half of the van was embedded on the hood of the truck.

From The Toronto Sun,
The driver was Gagandeep Singh, 21, who was out on bail on two prior liquor store heists. Weeks before he had been released on $2,000 bail, as my colleague Joe Warmington reported. Singh was slated to be back in court on May 14. He was also killed in the crash.
The international student was also before the courts for carjacking and drug possession.

Here’s something to think about, publicly release the names of the judges that freely give out bail. Also they should explain to the public why the judge thought bail was granted. The other argument is that the jails are filled overflowing, boo who. Do it the way I think that Las Vegas Sheriff did convicts are sent to live in tents outside, you have a Johnny on the spot for them, and if they do some work cleaning parts so on so forth than they have the chance to move indoors if not stay outside, you get fresh air. In the last one hold onto your hats, be able to sue the judges for incompetence. Or removed from his job? I remember reading a story about in Florida they were looking for an executioner to carry out a sentence, if I recall right about five 800 people apply for this job. If you want to be tough on crime toughen up the sentencing bring back the death penalty.

Get someone like Judge Dreed.....Judge, jury and executioner all in one shot. Enough of this bale in one door out the other. Waiting so long for a court date and credit for time served. Bring back the rope for the death penalty jail over crowed, out in the field tent over head. one phone call a week no hbo etc etc Jail should be a deterrent not free room and board!

Has there been anything published on who Gagandeep Singh age 21 was.
Canadian born or in the country on student visa ??.

Separate court records, which list Singh as having no fixed address, allege he'd stolen merchandise from an LCBO outlet in Burlington and another in Oakville over the course of three days in January.

Durham Police arrested Gagandeep Singh on Feb. 28 in Whitby for having a stolen vehicle and breaching a release order not to be in the driver seat of any vehicle.

Wtf are we letting a guy stay here on study permit when he is no longer going to school and committing crime on top of it. What is the purpose of cbsa? Not a serious country.
How is immigration supposed to deport him when he’s waiting for his trial? You can’t just deport criminal foreigners because then you are leaving them without punishment and creating incentive to come and commit crimes.
maybe not giving them bail would be a solution but it flies in the face of the presumption of innocence
