I was reading up on the benefits of a full faced vs a half helmet and came across this pic: It was titled:

we don't wear half.......

I had to laugh......

Around here the ER folks call motorcyclists organ donors.

When the bikes come out the number of available organs for transplant goes way up.

Oops! I thought this was a thread about circumcision.
But I guess that would have been toques vs hardhats.
Sorry

I don't know why you would go half-faced. Too risky. Plus, you'll get more crap in your face with a half-face.

I have both and to tell the truth the 1/2 is a pain in the ass, eyes water like hell even with glasses and can't see a thing, LMAO. Not a Good feeling. Full Face is much better.

I have been in a bike accident where there were scratches on the face protector.. when you fall at speed, don't for a second think you have any control over what happens next, you are a rag doll.

I know one thing I was taught early on: roll away or push off the bike because you don't want that thing rolling around beside or on top of you......

If you are going to ride and worry about messing up your face then you shouldn't be riding. No helmets!
lol.....you should talk to Gary Busey.......or many others who've gone down without wearing a helmet. Funny enough, most of them wear helmets after they've kissed the pavement....

I've been riding bikes on and off for over 30 years (dirt & road bikes and quads) and I ALWAYS wear a fullface. If you're going to buy one don't sell yourself short, DON'T BUY PLASTIC, polycarbonate or whatever they call it.... Spend a extra few $$$ and buy either a fiberglass or Kevlar helmet.... If you do a face plant you'll be glad you spent the extra bucks!!!
You can get some good deals on Ebay, HOWEVER go to a bike shop first and try a few on. You'll find that different manufacturer's helmets fit differently. Bell helmets tend to fit narrower heads best while Arai will fit a rounder shaped head, etc. Also the newer Bell's are a wee bit heavier than the rest as well, so a lot of it depends on personal preference. Don't expect to spend less than $350 - $400 at a retail shop for a quality lid.

It's always full faced for me. You can never control what could fly on the road and hit you in the face. There are so many ways that your body could hit the floor if you fell that I don't see the advantage of wearing a half face if in the end you will end up eating from a straw. My view is that I only have one body and I have to protect it.
