Habs just beat Carolina 4-0, Huet's first shut out of the season. That gives them 7 out of a possible 8 points in their last 4 games, losing the single point in a shoot out with the leafs.
This is the most promising team Montreal has put on the ice in over a decade with young stars like Higgins and Ryder and veterans like Koivu, Bonk, and Kovalev creating a solid core of forwards. They are at present a little bit weak on the blue line, even with Souray leading all defencemen in the league in goals and points. At present they are solid in net with Huet and Abeischer sharing duties. Their strongest play has perhaps been on penalty killing, where they lead the league, and power play, where they are in the top 5. They are very close to having a contender and I wouldn't be surprised to see them go to conference final. GO HABS!
