I think this is the OPPOSITE of langeweile's view - that the US, due to our cooler relationship, has played hardball with our industries.
This is CLEARLY what she's saying, otb. The bans are *US* actions, not ours.
Perhaps we SHOULD be US-bashing if they're going to play games with trade. Fortunately, the WTO is starting to take notice of US protectionism.
I blame the liberals, too - Canada is ill-positioned to have poor relationships with the US. That having been said, the US administration has acted in a very petty manner, and doesn't take any nay-saying on our part at all well, whether it's wanting to talk about trade protectionism or the invasion of Iraq.
The liberals AND Dubya have both contributed, to the detriment of everyone on both sides of the border. Frankly, I hope the protesters let them BOTH hear it. Both deserve major embarrassment.
