Someone pointed out to me recently that these were upside down guitars. All these years and I never noticed.

It never did.
Because the zipper in down position position still had some heavy paper separating metal from vinyl. It did not create a through and through opening.
The chick on the left was an amazon bassist. Her brother played for the Vancouver Grizzles back in the day... These guys could play, drink, smoke and fuck!
