There is quite a few bald eagle nests in the Niagara Region. Mostly along the Welland river and Lake Erie.
Lots of open water for fish and bush land for rabbits.

Like Ospreys started coming back maybe 20 years ago, today they are common April through October.. Bald eagles have slowly been coming back,

Their tolerance threshold ( proximity )for humans is pretty low so it’s hard to get close to them . Lots further north now.

Been an avid birdwatcher for nearly 50 years. I don't chase birds, nor do I travel specifically to go birding. Rather, I go birdwatching wherever I happen to be (I always travel with binoculars), which is mostly local in the bird-blessed state of NJ, situated as it is between north and south for both migrations and a wide-range of habitats all within a short drive of each other. Eagles have returned here in relative abundance, mostly favoring to set up either along the long coastal area or near Delaware Bay or along the Delaware River north of Trenton. They can also be seen during migration, mostly in the fall, as they and all other raptors ride the thermals that rise off the long ridge lines called first and second mountains, the first elevations coming out of the famed Meadowlands in North Jersey. But if you really want to see eales, hundreds of them at once, go Vancouver in late fall, early winter, and drive some 30 miles or so north on the way to Whistler, and turn off to go to Brackendale, where eagles descend from all corners of the West to take advantage of the last salmon runs of the year: https://bcparks.ca/brackendale-eagles-park/#park-overview-container

You and I both mburner.

Bald Eagles were brought to the edge of extinction in the early 70's by DDT. The pesticide turned BE eggshells soft, the chicks had no chance at survival, they have made a remarkable recovery since. I would love to see one up close, it wont happen on the Humber Trail near my house. That's owl territory.

A fight between a Bald Eagle and a Great Horned Owl is a pick em.

Bald Eagles, Osprey and more. I’ve managed to get within 100 feet many a time a lot further north. Just nothing I’d consider very good due to elevation.

In that fight the GHO all the way imo. They are highly territorial during nesting season. Known to rip the scalps off humans. Some owls ( great snowy being one ) are diurnal and not nocturnal. And no, not a birder. :)

one thing I find sort of funny when watching movies, tv etc from the U.S. and we hear that screaming eagle. It’s actually “voice over” from Red tail hawks.

There is one in Burlington as well, near the Tyandaga Golf Course.
I saw it with my own eyes. Those birds are impossible to misidentify

This is a domestic migration, a relocation for this raptor, no immigration, no “illeagles”.

Trudeau’s probable sucker successor will have to bring in a lot of immigrants soon after the election and “eat crow”.
Immigrants brought in 22 billion dollars and filled close to 300, 000 jobs last year according to Statistics Canada.

Where is this nest...the spit?
Eagles, all of the large birds of prey, really, are very sensitive as to intrusions. Wish whoever knows about where nests are would keep their damned mouths shut!!!

I saw a Golden Eagle perched on the fence in Bindertwine Park, it was an incredible sight. Bald Eagles hog the spotlight but the Golden is no less impressive. Brave raptor, he was on the border of owl turf.
