Well when you go "overseas" to have a serious operation then you can use that clue to discredit yourself! Having spent time recovering in an overseas hospital I can tell you that it is boring as fuck! Few patients speak conversational english, the local language TV sucks and the internet is a godsend. The connection to anyone is a godsend. What do you think is going on? That he is writhing in pain and can think of nothing except crawling under a dock and dying? Pssssst..... they now have pain medication!

Being in 'any' hospital is as boring as fuck, unless you're a really nosy busy body. Hmm!
I have not doubt that post op is very painful, but his last post was before the operation. I'm not expecting much contact in the intervening time, operation or not. It's actually been more peaceful. The serious pain meds do kill pain, but you also don't want to do much else explain pass the log in your ass before it takes root and hope you don't take root in the bed.
It was not great detective work as it was clearly the case the moment he did it.
