Here's a phenomenon that's not really been discussed. Marvel can trot out as many superheroes as they like but none will be as popular as one oversized lady. The Jurassic Park franchise can get as stupid as it likes, it will always make money.

Before Mank, I have to get to Strike. The fourth book of JK Rowling's excellent adult crime drama is now out. I binged most of the other three.
I'm under the impression that Netflix told JoBlo not to reveal the Orson Welles role in Mank. I find it a little disturbing, I don't know that much about Herman Mankewicz was exorcising personal demons when he wrote the screenplay for Citizen Kane. Part of which was his infatuation with Marion Davies. Whatever, the film would not have gotten made without Orson Welles. Despite that, as a lifelong Gary Oldman fan, I can't wait to see it.
As a side note I haven't been able to get a good download of Strike: Lethal White, the first episode is excellent. It's now Hulu property, not available in Canada. Who knows if the series will survive due to the blow-back JK Rowling is taking over the Johnny Depp fiasco. WB has dropped him from her kiddie series.

The Many Saints of Newark will be released on March 12, 2021. All the pressure will young Micheal Gandolfini as young Tony Soprano. If he slays, his place in Hollywood will be established, if he bombs, his career will go the way of Richie Aprile.
Unlike Bryan Cranston, who was a natural for Walter White, James Gandolfini took an inordinate amount of risk to make Tony Soprano compelling. He was already bi-polar and the demands of the character took a physical toll on his health. When he appeared in 0 Dark 30, he already had breathing problems. What a waste!

Tom Hardy's best performance as an actor was in The Drop. Yes I rate Bob higher than Charlie Bronson. At the time he didn't know the huge ripple effect the film would have and what it meant to his career...and it tested his sobriety to the limit.
Oops, WB gets infected by the Disney flu. If Chris Stuckmann pans the film that's a problem. I liked the first Wonder Woman film but it suffered from over-hype to allay PC culture - and it was an inferior film to Logan.
When a film or a series is filled with implausibilities it's up to the actors to coax you to suspend your disbelief. Breaking Bad is one implausibility after another, but it doesn't matter. Bryan Cranston, Giancarlo Esposito and Jonathan Banks are so fuckin good that they effortlessly take you along for the ride.
Some of you may be saying, what about Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman? He's good but he's essentially playing Russell Oliver, he has more freedom with the role. Mike Ehrmantraut has a higher degree of risk and difficulty.

It's been such a shit ass year, I've only been to the theater three times, the last was Tenet. In spite of that WatchMojo comes with their Top 10 Schlepperellos of 2020.
Some of these sound hilarious, like Shia Lobeouf as a Chicano. I've only watched one film, Unhinged, I'll watch aything Rusty is in. What he does onscreen echoes in eternity.

Viggo Mortensen achieved financial freedom by taking profit sharing over salary in the LOTRs franchise. Since then he's been making the films he wants to make. His latest Falling looks like a grittier version of Away From Her. That film succeeded by staying true to the subject matter while avoiding PC muck. I trust Viggo is smart enough to do the same.
