the regular season is meaningless. let the senators rack up the points in the regular season. the gods of hockey will arrange for their demise at the hands of the lowly leafs.

Just like Pat Quinn is coaching in the past, you guys just won't let go. Its' a new NHL. Having a building full of corporate suits who can pay whatever the ticket price is because they ain't paying it, doesn't matter anymore. You have to live within the same basic salary structure as Ottawa now. Now it depends on scouting, coaching, drafting and adept trading. It's a whole new world for Leaf management and its' going to take a few years for them to adjust (if they ever do).

The regular season is meaningless? Well, it ain't meaningless if you miss the playoffs. If it's meaningless, I guess the Leafs haven't had a meaningful season since 1967.

I didnt care to get involved in the whole Leafs/Sens debate here, but the one thing they both have in common, is geriatric goalies. If Hasek gets hurt, that team is done for, Ray Emery is not leading them to glory...before you jump on me, same thing with the Leafs...both seasons hinge on those 2 guys staying healthy, ultimately...

I wouldn't be so sure. Emery has been solid so far. 3 for 3. He's as good a back-up goalie as you're going to see in the League. And he has Chara, Redden and Philips in front of him.

Emery has better fundamentals as a goalie than Lalime ever had. Lalime had basic shortcomings like not squeezing the pads, slow mitt and tendency to go down too quick.

But you're comparing chimpanzees and orangutans, in terms of then and now. In the old NHL Ottawa played the trap; now they can afford to let a few goals in, if they're potting 5-6 goals on average per game.

Exactly! Could,nt have said it better. RicFlair, we know the Ottawa Trojans,
errrrrr I mean Senators track record come April time. Will be interesting
how their top line will stand up against a tough defensive team like Philly.
The only advantage you have over them is goaltending. Hasek will be
put to the test come April. That will be the difference. He,s not the goalie
from his Buffalo & Detroit days. But now is not the time to Gloat.

And for the record I am not a leaf fan. I am a hockey fan. I'd rather watch a bunch of kids play the game they love then the prima donnas who play for Ottawa, Toronto, and the rest of the NHL. Just pointing out some relevant facts for you.
