The best thing about the senators play this year, is that no matter how good they play and how many games they win in the regular season - somehow, they will lose to the leafs in the playoffs.
I guess I was wrong.

Hmmm...actually the mighty Senators were doing a little better this year. Alfredsson was the best player in game 5 of Stanley Cup Finals by scoring the only two goals for the 'powerful' Senators. Everybody else in the team just figure-skated around Alfie to celebrate his brilliant leadership. :D LOL!!!

TSN started out as Sens haters and turned into lovers. Even Landsberg was heavily on the bandwagon by the end. McGuire was even calling the team speedy and full of Monsters. It was a beautiful thing I am sure for Sens fans to see.

For Leafs fans, it's an annual occurence to see everyone in Toronto to jump on someone else bandwagon for a piggy back.

Looking back at the 1992 NHL Entry Draft and Ottawa's pics...

1st rd.(2nd) - Alexei Yashin(C) - Spent five seasons in Ottawa and managed to have three contract holdouts. Six goals in 26 playoff games and a consistent no-show in the playoffs led to his demise in Ottawa. Yashin posted solid numbers during the regular season but his desire in the playoffs was something that no Sens fan will ever forget. Posted average numbers for five years with the NYI.

2nd rd.(25th) - Chad Penny(LW) - Played 3 games with the Senators and was a career minor-leaguer. Retired after the 1998-99 season.

3rd rd.(50th) - Patrick Traverse(D) - Traverse was in the Senators system for 6 years and managed to play on five different NHL teams.

4th rd.(73rd) - Radek Hamr(D) - Played 11 games with the Senators and has played the rest of his career in Europe.

5th rd.(98th) - Daniel Guerard)RW) - Played 2 games with the Senators and has been a career minor-leaguer.

6th rd.(121st) - Alan Sinclair(D) - Retired after his NCAA career ended in 1994-95.

7th rd.(146th) - Jaroslav Miklenda(D) - No stats available.

8th rd. (169th) - Jay Kenney(D) - Retired after 1998-99 season.

9th rd. (194th) - Claude Savoie(RW) - Career minor-leaguer.

10th rd. (217th) - Jake Grimes(C) - Career minor-leaguer and retired after the 1994-95 season. Currently an assistant in the OHL.

11th rd. (242nd) - Tomas Jelinek(RW) - Played one season with the Senators and retired after the 1998-99 season.

11th rd. (264th) - Petter Ronnquist(G) - Played his entire career in Europe.

Here are the players selected in the 1993 draft.

1st rd.(1st-overall! that's right, the pic of the crop...) - Alexandre Daigle(RW) - The almighty famous quote of "Nobody remembers #2" will ring true forever but the problem is Chris Pronger was the second player selected in this draft....enough said, right? It is hard to look at the other players selected in the first round. Daigle is now playing in the Swiss Elite League and he may have found a home after a very good season and a two year contract extension.

2nd rd.(27th) - Radim Bicanek(D) - He was given every opportunity to become a regular on the blueline but never quite lived up to expectations over his 5 seasons in Ottawa. Currently playing in the Czech Elite League.

3rd rd.(53rd) - Patrick Charbonneau(G) - Career minor-leaguer.

4th rd.(91st) - Cosmo Dupaul(LW) - Career minor-leaguer.

6th rd.(131st) - Rick Bodkin - Retired after 1995-96 season.

7th rd.(157th) - Sergei Polischuk(D) - Retired after 1997-98 season.

8th rd.(183rd) - Jason Disher(D) - Career minor-leaguer.

9th rd. (209th) - Toby Kvalevog(G) - Retired after NCAA career ended in 1996-97 season.

9th rd.(227th) - Pavel Demitra(C) - Still playing in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild. Demitra has averaged close to a point a game during his 682 NHL games. An incredible find in the 9th round but a contract holdout forced then GM Pierre Gauthier to trade him to St.Louis for Christer Olson. That one hurt alot!

10th rd.(235th) - Rick Schuhwerk(D) - Retired after the 1997-98 season.
