Juventus is fucked, they could have had Guglielmo Vicario at a much cheaper price. They waffled and Tottenham picked him up

There's no shortage of good goalkeepers in Serie A, Donnarumma may not even be the best option.

He's very good, I wonder why they didn't take him

They're saying Donnarumma wants out of PSG and maybe going to Juve.

In other news:

Sophia Barclay has dropped a bombshell. The Brazilian influencer appeared on a TV show in her home country and revealed something that directly involves Neymar Jr.
According to Barclay, the Paris Saint-Germain footballer had sexual relations with another famous Brazilian man during a party he hosted himself amid the Covid-19 pandemic..

Well the pandemic was hard for everyone. Rich or not.

Mbappe says he is staying at PSG this season. But that is not the issue. He says he is leaving at the end of this season and PSG wants to trade him before he leaves for nothing. So he might continue to be frozen from the team if he doesnt sign an extension.

The EPL swallowed the poison pill when they allowed Arab and Russian Plutocrats to buy their football clubs. They now control the league and all non-fiefdom clubs have to march to their drum or be relegated. Leicester won the EPL Title in 2016, they are now in the Championship. Clubs are carrying too much excess baggage, more matches are scheduled to justify it. ManCity has 27 lawyers on their payroll, Juventus gets kicked out of European competition.

American Sportscasters have poo pooed on football for decades, yet football in North America continues to grow. Messi is energizing MLS while the Spanish/Italian Tour of the Southwest is a sell out everywhere they go. Gerry Cardinale took massive heat for selling Tonali, he's spent more on players than what he got from Newcastle. No decent highlights of Barcelona vs Milan yet.

Tonali will be miserable as a Geordie.

Serie A seems to want a piece of the pie as well.

They just opened their first Middle East office in Abu Dhabi a few months back to their second outside Italy after previously launching operations in New York to cover the North American market last year.

Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala was linked with a move to buy this year’s Champions League finalists Inter Milan in 2021. A $1 billion deal from Saudi’s Public Investment Fund to buy Inter, first mooted last year, also failed to materialise.

Bahraini investment fund InvestCorp was reported in April to be part of a consortium also looking to buy the club, having previously been linked with a move to purchase city rivals AC Milan.

Alfonso De Stefano, Serie A’s Mena managing director, told AGBI: “I’m absolutely aware that it’s something that could happen in the future.

“We have in our league several clubs under foreign ownership and there is always an eye open from this region to Italian football clubs.”

Most of the foreign Serie A owners are American with Italian roots if I’m not mistaken but that may change sooner rather than later.

Right now the EPL is the place to be for global investors, for better or for worse. Tom Brady just became part owner of Birmingham City and plans to make it his post NFL retirement project, probably inspired by Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham. I just hope the Kardashians don’t plan on buying a club.

Apparently Kane just accepted the offer.

The FIGC can try but I don't see anything substantive coming from it, Italy infrastructure is dilapidated. The economy has improved but I don't see a post Hillsborough rebuild happening. The country is still carrying a heavy pension debt, the pension reforms first instituted by Giuseppe Conte gives much smaller cookies to plutocrats than what the EPL is offering.

As for infrastructure, Verona is the most glaring example. A gorgeous town with The ugliest stadium in in all Italy. The Bentegodi is a derelict, charmless concrete monster built in the late 1920's. Italy has put in a bid to host Euro 2032, that will go nowhere unless Verona gets a new stadium.

This just in as of July 26: Italy and Turkey have decided to merge their rival bids for Euro 2032. This is symbolic at it represents the co-operation of the two Capitals of the Roman Empire. Problem is, who will host the Final: Rome or Istanbul?

Here are some of the upgrades planned, the Milano one is totally incorrect. I'm skeptical, I don't believe they can get it done.

Turkey withdrawing their 2028 Euro bid left UK and Ireland unopposed. I’m not sure it’s a great idea for England to host again so soon after what happened a few years back. They still haven’t hosted another World Cup since 1966…

If its a Roman Empire tournament, the final has to be in Rome, unless they change Instanbul‘s name back to Constantinople.

What a upset, Sweden beating Japan, didn't watch it but I watched Spain-Netherlands. Good game, but Spain deserved to win, they were much more aggressive. But not hot, the Dutch were prettier.

Crispy Crunch congratz on getting the 2028 Euro.

After the shellacking the Swedes gave the Canadians, I wagered on them to at least make the Final. They are the strongest defensively.

The Ottoman Sultans considered themselves the heirs of the Caesars, the city remained Constantinople while they reigned. It was not changed to Istanbul until 1930.

Erling Haaland should tell his fan club to STFU, they're branding Francesco Acerbi a clown. Let's see how good Andrea Onana is this year without Acerbi and Bastoni.

Tuchel looks like a kid on Christmas morning finally getting the striker he wanted. Don’t think I’ve ever seen him this happy.

Football Italia is reporting that Roberto Mancini has resigned as coach of the Azzurri, I haven't seen it reported anywhere else.
