England won the European Under 21 Cup 1-0. Was a pretty entertaining game. Pity that the TV coverage was not more accessible to all the TV Networks.
CBS Sports was the only coverage other than the UEFA Network. But England did not concede a single goal in this Tournament. That was an all time record. The English Keeper had a spectacular save from a Spanish penalty and what was more incredible was his second save from the second attempt by a Spanish player who struck it really well. Hopefully, England will develop these young talents for silverware for their First Team in the Future World Cups.

Ac Milan have solved one of their biggest problems from last season, no support for Mark Maignan. They have signed former Atalanta starter Marco Sportiello.

Its about time, the other guy didn't do very well when Mike Maignan was sick. I hear Milan is loading up with more good players like Pulisic

inter not interested in keeping Lukaku anymore, sending him back to Chelsea. We'll see where he ends up, he's not as good as he used to be, that's why Inter didn't want to keep him.

Good, Lukaku was disloyal, he gets what he deserves. The decision was partially made by Andre Onana not wanting to go to ManUnited. Inter can do without Lukaku,, if they sell Onana they will not be factor in any competition next year. Earlier Newcastle tried to buy Nicolo Barella, Moratta demanded $130 million, so they bought Tonalli instead.

The Women's World Cup kicks off on July 20, Janine Beckie won't be playing due to an ACL tear.

The Canadians still have plenty of weapons including Ashley Lawrence, whom imho is the Paolo Maldini of female soccer.
They won last olympic games purely on their defensive. Which remains very similar except the addition of Gabrielle Carle.

But this time they will need more offense as the US and UK team are much stronger. And losing Beckie is hard as she was not only a strong forward but a true and admired leader (good news for us is she probably will be on the broadcast panel like at the WC where she simply shined :) )

I truly hope Sinclair will play in midfield as she does mostly with her regular team now. Her knowing the game so well and being 40 it would be wiser. Will the addition of Viens (who lead the Swedish league on goals this year) and Lacasse (player of the year in Portugal) be enough up front? Will 18 year old Smith surprise us?

We will need beauty star Huitema to rise and score early game goals. Only then can we hope for a good run.

My love for Janine has never dimmed, she chose to play for Canada to honour her father's memory. She was eligible to play for the Americans.

Life gave her lemons, she made daiquiris.

UEFA U19 The Italians win a UEFA game against Portugal. The PC were the favorites and they did beat the Italians once but things have turned around.

Cuadrado (Juve) is heading to Inter.

Must be an English type. Is he worth signing?

When he is on his game he can be a real threat up front. At one time he was loaned to Fulham and that is where he stood out.
No wonder that Chelsea wanted him back in the squad. But he did not get enough of game time and really Chelsea's revolving door of managers did not help.
Now Porchy wants a clear out of what he considers to be dead wood and goodness knows whether Chelsea will hit the new highs that it once did.

Chelsea have the good fortune of getting Lukaku back, depending on whether Juve take him on instead. Dusan Vlahovic has joined the PSG Invincibles for a transfer fee of $77 million...hope he doesn't run into too many chicken bones.

Obviously Ruben Loftus Cheek didn't play in the Euro, I would have known about him. If he can step up like Fikayo Tomori has, he'll be a welcome addition. Lorenzo Colombo's apprenticeship at Lecce is over, it's about time. Oliver Giroud has been Mr. Wonderful but you can't expect him to carry the load at 37. Colombo has real thunder in his left foot.

It's official, Stephen Zhang is sabotaging Inter to stave off bankruptcy. Both Suning and ByteDance (Tik Tok) are deep in the red, the later has lost $17 billion...I wonder how Elon The Great is doing?

In my mini brief of the women Canadian team I forgot about 1 important girl. The serie A mid fielder of the year awardee Julia Grosso! She could be a factor if she finds the correct quick short pass (at which she's very strong) partners around her.

The big difference in woman football is ball recovery on first touches. Women do not control the ball as fast and with such accuracy as the men so that leads to more duels. Often short one. Having someone that can quickly eliminate as many as such duels is crucial.

The UK team is missing 3 key players. They could very well still go far. But the US and Germany have exchanged #1 rank since 2004! So logically it should still be one of these 2 team that will grab the cup.
