I much preferred Eli Wallach. His role was one of the best acting jobs ever. If this isn't my favorite movie, it's gotta be well up there. Lee Van Cleef is one of my favorites but Wallach made the movie.

Agree with Allan Rickman in Die Hard.

Let's not forget about Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction as Jules.

The opening scene in the apartment with the 3 college kids is one of the all time best....

Jules: What does Marsellus Wallace look like?
Brett: What?
Jules: [Flips table out of the way] What country are you from?
Brett: What?
Jules: "What" ain't no country I ever heard of! They speak English in "What?!"
Brett: What?
Jules: English, motherfucker! Do you speak it?
Brett: Yes!
Jules: Then you know what I'm saying. Describe what Marsellus Wallace looks like!
Brett: What?
Jules: [Points gun at Brett] Say "what" again! Say - "what" - again! I dare you! I double-dare you motherfucker! Say "what" one more goddamn time!
Brett: He's black.
Jules: Go on!
Brett: He's bald.
Jules: Does he look like a bitch?
Brett: What?
Jules: [Shoots Brett in the shoulder] Does he LOOK like a bitch?!
Brett: No!
Jules: Then why'd you try to fuck him like a bitch, Brett?
Brett: I didn't!
Jules: Yes, you did! Yes, you did, Brett! You tried to fuck him. And Marsellus Wallace don't like to be fucked by anybody except Mrs. Wallace. You read the Bible, Brett?
Brett: Yes!
Jules: Well, there's this passage I've got memorized that sort of fits this occasion. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of the evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!"

Amon Goethe, played by Ralph Fienes, in Schindlers List. The German Concentration Camp Commander.

I believe he was also the villain in Red Dragon.

I dunno....with how Pulp Fiction is written, can you really say Jules was the bad guy? I'd be more inclined to say he was a hero and the college kids and the gimp <shiver> were the bad guys.

I would say that the character of Jules was a "charming Psychopath", much like Tony Soprano for example.

They can be good guys, but they are at their core cold blooded killers who will not hesitate to take care of business.

Correct. Jules is more accurately described as an antihero.

Once Upon a Time in the West, is better! And who would have thought Henry Fonda as the badest guy of them all when he kill the kid!
I agree, when great actors play bad it's something to behold.

Perhaps the baddest badass of them all: Laurence Olivier - Marathon Man

Is it safe?

Hands down, the nastiest bad guy in a film, at least in this century. George W. Bush in Fahrenheit 9/11.

Joe Pesci - Goodfellas

Joe Pesci - Casino

Bruce A Young (Jingles) - An Innocent Man *A Tom Selleck movie from 1989*

In no real order and not including some that are mentioned as I would have to agree with all of them:

The Creeper - Jeepers Creepers
Agent Smith - Matrix
Sheriff & Leather Face - Texas Chain Saw Massacre
Decon Frost - Blade
Nomac - Blade 2
Dracula - Blade 3
Freddy - Friday the 13th series
Jig Saw - Saw 1,2,3
T1000 - Terminator 2
Micky and Malory Knocks - Natural Born Killers
Scar - Lion King
Kieffer Sutherland - Phone booth, Lost Boys, Eye for an Eye
Eddie Murphy - Vampire in Brooklyn
Death - Final Destination 1,2,3

Some are funny, some are sick, some are just great actors in that role.
