Has anyone used expired Viagra before? (I have some that are about a year past expiry but they've been kept in a dark, dry place and are still in the blister pack.)

Just wondering if it worked ok?

I'm not a doctor, but...

Yeah, they're fine.

They don't turn into poison. Worst case, they're not as effective as they were earlier.

You won't have a problem with it, maybe in 5 years it will lose some potency. Most medicines are good for years, the only ones you don't want expired are antibiotics. Doctors have provided me expired samples for years. Creams, antinfiammatories etc.

I have taken Viagra 10 years after its expiration date. The results? EXACTLY the same as freshly purchased Viagra.

At the time, I consulted with a friend who is a pharmacist and he explained this to me:

- Expiration dates on medications have everything to do with drug companies limiting liability and nothing to do with drug safety.

- With the exception of some tetracycline antibiotics (which can become toxic over time) and nitroglycerin, all meds are safe to take after the expiration date.

- It's true that medications do lose some potency over time, but after, say, 10 years, we're probably talking about only 2% or 3% potency will be lost -- if that.

In fact, the US Army found some codeine tablets a few years back that were left over from WW2. They tested the pills. The findings? The codeine was still effective and perfectly safe to take for pain relief.

For your own good & safety I wouls suggest that you don't take them. Let me arrange a time to come pick them uo and I'll make sure they are properly disposed of 😉
