Essentially, Musk is fake and everyone is falling for his daily incessant tweets (not that he has the time or anything).

So Elon Musk, the man who has revolutionized two disparate industries, is a con-man. Only the dumbest of the dumbest will make this proclamation.
Not Mercedes. Not BMW. Not Volkswagen, Not GM, Not Ford. Not Hyundai. None of these automobile giants with brilliant mechanical engineers came up with battery-operated electric vehicles. It took Elon Musk, a software engineer, to make it happen. And the testament to his achievement are the Teslas everywhere. And now all the others are scrambling furiously to catch Tesla. That Tesla stock is inflated is not the fault of Musk. Look to Wall Street lol.
Not NASA. Not Russia. Stacked with brilliant aeronautical engineers, none of these could come up with reusable spacecraft. It took Elon Musk to make reusable spacecraft a reality and bail out the American space industry. SpaceX's achievements include the first privately funded liquid-propellant rocket to reach orbit around Earth; the first company to successfully launch, orbit, and recover a spacecraft; the first private company to send a spacecraft to the International Space Station. Now that Russia has abandoned the International Space Program, the International Space Station would be shut down if not for Elon Musk.
Henry Ford did not invent the internal combustion engine. He perfected mass production making vehicles more affordable. Thomas Edison championed the now obsolete direct current. Nikola Tesla is the one whose alternate current made electricity transmissible. On these scores, Elon Musk is a greater inventor than Henry Ford and Thomas Edison! Some con man lol.

Honestly, watch the first video. Elon really hasn't done much "disruption". The guy makes valid points and it's eye opening.

The only thing Elon seems to have done real well is create a huge following on Twitter and create a distraction to the rest of the world.
As for the battery operated vehicle claim, Tesla was around before Musk came into the picture and got the CEO ousted.
GM created a real ugly electric vehicle only to recall them and destroy them.
GOLF CARTS run on batteries and have been around a lot longer than both above.
Ironically, Musk is more of an Edison than he is a Tesla. Steals ideas and repackages them as his own when he can.
But a lot of his projects keep getting cancelled or delayed.

I have been watching Thunderf00t videos for years. They are incredible, especially the scientifically-oriented ones.
He has been focusing on Musk's unfortunate propensity to exaggerate (understatement). However he also talks about other "vaporware" salespeople.....

NASA did this with the Space Shuttle program in the early 1980s and the Soviets had a shuttle which was capable of automated launch and landing (Buran) in 1989; years before Musk could claim to do the same.
Let's also be honest here. Musk did not actually do much of this. There have been scientists and engineers (with actual degrees and experience) in the background who have been making all of this possible; some likely ex-NASA or ex-JPL employees. So NASA and JPL are not as useless as you imply. In most cases, Musk is merely the facade in front of the building.....

Perhaps you've heard of the Challenger and Columbia disasters of the Space Shuttle Program. You want to call a disastrous program which has been retired a success, go ahead. If not for Elon Musk, the United States would not have a space program. That's a fact.
"Musk did not actually do much of this?" Your head must be buried in sand. Yes, some of the ideas powering Tesla and SpaceX did not originate with Elon Musk. But he is the one with the vision to say we are going to do it. And pulled teams and financial resources together to make the vision a reality. Musk slept in the first Tesla factory in California to ensure its success. That's guts.
For your reference, Microsoft did not write the operating system which catapulted the company to global leadership of the software industry. The 86-DOS on which Bill Gates built his fortune was written by Tim Paterson of Seattle Computer Products and licensed exclusively to Microsoft, which then licensed it to IBM. Steve Jobs borrowed most of the ideas for the iPhone from Blackberry. Then he added apps, which wiped out Blackberry. Inventions are collaborations. But it takes a visionary to succeed

Well Honda made an electric car, the Honda Insight. First produced in 1999- 2022.
Yes the space shuttle had it's problems and disasters but so did SpaceX. Something that complex doesn't work perfectly 100% of the time and will suffer malfunctions.
I agree that both NASA and Musk's Space-X company have done some very impressive flights and not so impressive flights.
It's just the arrogant worship that I really can't stand. It is very pathetic and childish.....
You're comparing the Honda Insight, which debuted as a hybrid with negligible sales and has been discontinued twice, to the all-EV Tesla? Brilliant. Very astute observation.
SpaceX is flying high while the Shuttle program has been discontinued. In case you didnt know, these are definitions of success and failure
