Im Canadian, and the son of an immigrant. I'm earning a 1% income, but still decidedly working class (I.e. I have to go to work every day, My family can't live indefinitely off my accumulated capital)

Part of my customer base has names like Morneau and Bragg, so I swim in those waters sometimes. None of those guys "did it on their own". They were able to grow generational weath. No different than Trump or Musk.

Im also old enough to know that my grandfather was able to raise 5 kids with a grade 2 education, own a cottage, and retire comfortably before 60.

Those opportunities are going away, and gone for my kids, because labour has stopped doing violence. Look at the h1b visa fight. Musk has made it clear he just wants labour as cheap as possible. He doesn't give a shit about humanity. Anyone supporting him feels the same.

We fight fascism because it is an ideology of failure. It inevitably leads to violence. Once again, as a father, I'd prefer to live in a world where my kids don't have to fight a land war in Europe. Going Luigi on a couple of wealthy heirs may make the point with minimum bloodshed.

But more importantly real median incomes were rising faster than at any time in the 21st century.
Doesn't seem to be the case based on the info below.
The Washington Post Fact Checker awarded the claim “Two Pinocchios,”4 partly because Trump claims credit for a trend that started under Obama and greatly exaggerates the impact of the tax cuts.
The official government statistics report only a $1,400 increase over the first two years of the Trump administration.
The most reliable data about household income is released annually by the U.S. Census Bureau, which in September reported that inflation-adjusted median household income in 2018 was $63,179. This represents a $1,400 increase over the first two years of the Trump administration.5 However, this does not include the period from January 2019 through the present.
The increase during the last two years of the Obama administration was three times larger
The annual data show that median household income increased $4,800 during the last two years of the Obama administration—more than three times greater than during the first two years of the Trump administration.
The $5,000 figure is based on monthly data, which are less reliable than annual figures

Yea the idea that you guys talk so much and care about it is so weird.
Weird in what way?
Figuring out the arrangements of society pretty much dates back to the dawn of history.

I can’t help but not comment to say how stupid it is. It sucks me in everytime.
Right.
It's clearly incredibly important to you that people accept your view of politics as the proper and correct one.

You guys are men right?
Why would that be remotely relevant unless you think "men" is an important part of the hierarchy you want to enforce?

He did no such thing. In the 3 years leading up to COVID the US growth rates were 2.5%, 2.9% and 2.5%. But more importantly real median incomes were rising faster than at any time in the 21st century.
Sorry to shatter your world view:

You are absolutely right.

I find it strange that Canadians use biased news sources to argue you are wrong.

From personal experience Trump years were fantastic pre-Covid for myself and most people I know.

Obama years were good as well but he inherited a post crash bounce back

A lot bigger problem is that Jews are conflicted. Who are they supposed to support? The Dems are associated with Islamists and the right are associated with fascism. Which is the lesser evil?
Um, Jews are just people who have just as diverse opinions as anyone else. Treating them as one entity sounds like something Frank would do.

Democrats raised over $1 billion this past election cycle. Republicans raised $394 million. You do the math about which party is the chosen one for billionaires.
1.16 billion for the democrats, 638 million for the Republicans. (Presidential, we aren't talking the house and senate races)

The Republicans got more from PACs (by an order of magnitude), while the Democrats got more from individuals. (That pattern also holds for House and Senate races.)

Or, if you prefer to look at it including the outside money...

Harris -> $1,994,938,580
Trump -> $1,439,768,875

With Trump's money coming mostly from Outside money and not Campaign money.

And, of course, only 6 people donated more than 100 million dollars to the parties in this election cycle.

Those were all to Republicans.

So yeah, doing the math, it is pretty clear who the oligarchs and billionaires chose overall.
At least in terms of putting their money where their mouths are.

Trump had these billionaire CEO's there because he wanted to make a statement to the world. That the US is open for business.
Agreed.
Open for business, bribes accepted, you can pay us off and get what you want from the US government.

Pro-billionaire, fuck the working American.
That was exactly the statement he made to the world.

This talk of fascism is ridiculousness.
No, no.
The cultural MAGA bit was also important.
That's how they intend to get the typical American to not object to the billionaires and corruption.

Anecdotes are not data.
But your data is flawed and biased (the ones you guys opt to post are all from left leaning sources as identified by all sides.com). There are so many nuances to the data points both sides are posting on here.

For example, If any of you lived in tri-state area of US, you could see a month going into elections, a Trump victory was all but guaranteed, yet the polls and media painted a biased or incorrect picture.

The polls that constantly showed Trump ahead by a slim, but solid margin?
Those were wrong?

But sure, which data is flawed and biased in what was posted?
How is flawed and biased?
After all, K. Douglas doesn't pretend he doesn't prefer posting from biased sources (or at least has in the past).

If you want to argue the economy numbers, feel free.

We keep talking about it because you keep trying to deny what is plain as day, in your face reality. It is YOU who are continuing this discussion.
That’s my point. Why do you guys care so much. Some psycho just posted that his grandfather was poor and dumb so it’s ok to take vigilante justice on ceos because his kids might have to fight wars and get violent.

This is why you can’t have Elon Musk and tech people involved?

This is why you’re so scared of a so called oligachy? And a couple lefties on here actually thumbs upped that bitch.

What the hell is wrong with you socialists ??????? You guys are an interesting bunch, I can atleast give you that. Maybe that’s why I keep coming back.

Lots of people are very angry with the idea of less inequality.

That’s my point. Why do you guys care so much.
Because we have a very different view than you do about the benefits and drawbacks of living in a system with less inequality.

Man, don’t visit India. You’d hate the inequality there and there aren’t even any white people!

Not a psycho. A student of history. And my dumb grandfather killed nazis. I dont forget his sacrifice.

If you knew about the battle of the overpass, or Blair Mountain, you'd know that you can only push the proletariat so far.

Keep degrading the standard of living, and eventually people have nothing left to lose. Especially in a country with more guns than people, violence is inevitable. St. Luigi, cybertruck bomb guy, the tinder is starting to crackle.

Trump has courted a lot of angry people, and they are going to be worse off in the next 4 years, because of trumps actions.

What are they going to do when their kids die for lack of insulin, or their job disappears because of tarrifs? Who are they going to be angry at?

Listen https://www.iheart.com/podcast/105-...ode/part-one-how-nice-normal-people-72548148/

Or read

ANYTHING about the rise of nazi-ism in Germany and you'll see 1 to 1 parallels to trumps actions. Including "good germans" who were doing o.k. and thought Hitler would protect their upper middle class lifestyle.
