Do any of you pay $46.99 + HST for Rogers Hi-Speed Express internet? or less/more?

yes, I've gotten such warnings too but it usually happens very close to the end of the billing date. There is no way I could have gone over the limit by 20+ GB in just a few days since I always draw back on any downloading. I may be wrong, but I don't think checking emails and basic surfing require too much bandwidth.

I'm just wary of them because they like to bill unsuspecting clients... My dad and my bro have been milked by them.

I also checked their website and it says $26.99 for their Hi-Speed Express internet, which is currently at a %50 discount for 6 months if you sign a 1-year contract term. I've been with these thieves for a long time and pay the full price of this internet package at $46.99... Anyone know if I could terminate my account and sign back again to be eligible for the %50 discount for 6 months (1 year contract)?
You could if you have a wireless router and it was not password protected, for what ever reason. It happened to me last year.

Ditto and no problems.

when I get to 75% of my bandwith a warning comes up on my computer. Another comes up at 100%. I've gone over only once and have high-speed lite, 3 cell phones, and the Hbo Canada bundle

I know there are a lot of Roger's haters but I'm very happy with their service. Give them a call - I've found their service reps go out of their way to get you a deal if you're polite to them.

It only happened one month to me. Then I got a password, and no probs since.

I was going to switch to TekSavvy but I did some research and people were having all sorts of problems with download speeds and the process of switching over can be a real hassle (due to Rogers).

++1 I totally agree. Make sure it's the "cable" variant and not the DSL.
It really depends on your area. Teksavvy has the 16/25mbit DSL service now. Which one is better depends on how close you are to the nearest CO (i.e., how long the cable has to run before it gets to your home). I tried both (had them both at the same time) and then stuck with the DSL because it happens to be better where I live, but for other people the cable is better.

If you have a wireless router, perhaps someone is stealing your bandwidth?
Or perhaps there's some kind of virus/malware on your computer that's using up your bandwidth?

first step is to be on top of daily usage. one bad month should trigger a closer followup the next. it's easy to do and i would check weekly. and if i see a blip, look for the reason. or just post on terb that you couldn't have gone over. whichever.
