Yeah.

Teach them to be accepting of differences even at the age of 5.
As someone who has claimed to be bi on this board, do you want them to grow up being told its wrong?
One more reason why the Dems will go down in November. This kind of "education " foisted on the 5, 6, and 7 year olds is wildly unpopular. Way to dismiss the suburban women's vote. They didn't learn anything from the West Virginia election, I guess. Oh, well....

Don't underestimate the power over your life of these these unelected and unaccountable SJW's.
Do you or do you not feel that people have the free right of association?

Its a fundamental difference between Canada and the US, isn't it?
Canada has hate speech laws and the US has that first amendment thing.

Kinda like you can choose to post here, on a moderated board with no free speech or you could post on 8chan or Truth social or somewhere with no moderation and total free speech.
The differences in freedom of speech protections aren't as great as some people want to pretend.
And most "First Amendment Absolutists" are against provisions of the first amendment, since they often claim that the right of association it upholds should be ignored or severely curtailed.

I do find Section 319 to be *question*able on the whole. I think it should be scrapped, and instead enfold those scenarios under Section 264 and 264.1.
But even if we said it's a necessary evil, then this latest law is a matter of how you define "hate". While stupid, I don't see logically how denying an event occurred, even the Holocaust, is "hateful" in and of itself.
1) I don't think you can use 264 - which is about assault and individual in nature - to cover 319, which is public in nature.
2) It isn't, which is why it is proposed to criminalize it for the specific use. Now, do we need a statute to cover a specific instance? That's debatable in my books.

There is no don't say gay law. Just a law to stop teaching little kids about things they shouldn't be learning about at that age. Let them be kids. I don't find it humorous that people like you walk the streets.
You haven't looked into the Florida law in detail, have you?

In the wording of the proposed statute, anyone can take you to court if they fear you might commit: “an offence motivated by bias, prejudice, or hate based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other similar factor."
Nothing about this "fine you and the government gets to split" - this is just adding another option to Peace Bonds in the case where someone fears a violation of 319.
Your objection to peace bonds is what, exactly??

You think its better to foster intolerance in kids?
I would also wonder how popular the 'don't say gay' bill will be in Florida.

Asking questions and outright denial should not be considered the same thing and the topic should not be a binary one.
I asked what YOU believe. You paint yourself as being well informed, so you must have an opinion.

The government is saying the Holocaust occurred. You said that governments make mistakes. Do you believe that they have made a mistake in saying the Holocaust occurred?

It will be very popular for the group who wants it.
I expect more bills to control speech and promote indoctrination, though.
DeSantis seems to be of the wing that is very invested in that.

First of all there is no bill called "don't say gay" - it's a lefty invention. It's called Parental Rights in Education act. It has a support of 70% of Republicans, 58% of Independents and 55% of Democrats. As I pointed out to you before, you are the fringe.

Just because the christian taliban doesn't call it the 'don't say gay' bill doesn't mean that isn't what everyone else knows it as.
6/10 Americans are against it.

ROTFLMFAO!! Even the WaPo supports the numbers I posted. Their explanation? When the people being polled know what's in the actual bill, it's not even close. The Democrat problem is this- the voters are also parents and they KNOW what's in the bill. Red wave is on the way.

Aw, so cute. 'When they know what's in the bill'.
You mean when they lie about it like Fox commentators then they aren't so angry.

ROTFLMFAO!! Don't you worry, most parents actually care about their children's education, hence they read the bill and overwhelmingly support it.

Damn it, am I the only one to get irked to hear American politics constantly injected into our discussions on a CANADIAN website?

At the very least, don't resort to idiotic names like dems, lib tards, foolievre, and all the other silly childish names. If you are opposed to Democratic or Republican or Conservative or Liberal or NDP policies, it does NOTHING to help your arguments (if you have any) to apply a silly name to your opponents.

Just makes you look like a dumb-tard.

God, I hope ....(to be completed later)

As I said I was interested in how they were gathered .I can see from the stats that its more likely muslims have given up on reporting hate crimes vs the hate crimes actually suddenly and miraculously stopped.
As it says, people who reported the crimes to the police. It's not that tricky.
