Everything I’ve read so far (mainly headlines and the first paragraph) doesn’t make these kids look great…..that being said I also remember being in my early 20’s and being a shit head.
got kicked outta beer fest twice in one day (stealing a keg is not stealth), kicked outta a jays game in the middle of the 2nd inning (wasn’t great at hiding my Smirnoff bottle) and countless more dumbass thing and was very fortunate social media was not as prevalent as it is now.
not saying these kids are great but try to remember how you were at their age and pretend if you were on the flight you would remained seated with your seatbelt secure and kept your mask on the entire time. Don’t make this a bigger deal than it actually is

The only problem are the ones that fake their passport vaccine. These ones could face heavy fines (up to 750k) and even jail. And of course the non respect or airplane rules but they will already all be fined 5k for that.
Other then that yeah not sure if I would not have been on that plane in my 20's... I jumped in a hotel pool (with 2 girl) but naked in Alberta... Got kicked out by security and lost my job (was working at another hotel nearby). Also got caught by security in Cuba screwing on the roof of the hotel. The girl could speak spannish so somehow I got sent to my room. Next day I asked the girl what happened and she smiled haha He settled for a blowjob. Not to mention our competitive ski team initiation... Ho my we would made the news today doing the same! Yet somehow we did a lot of crazy shit and had fun I was rarely fucking. Wasn't that important for me. See how I was stupid!!!
Getting kicked out of a beer fest or Jays game is not the same as falsifying PCR tests and partying on a flight. One is a municipal fine at most, the other is a Federal offence. Big difference.

So if that was the case the final 2 hours of the flight would probably taken place over the gulf of Mexico. No airports around since that land mass is all water. Pressing on is the only choice. But in some circumstance they could or would turn around.
This is going back some time, however, its still happens today. Ladies and gentleman, if you ever think of fighting on an aircraft, best to keep you cool. This will happen to you. When the fighter jets get dispatched you're in big crap.
I think a lot of us are forgetting why there are certain rules we have to abide by when we are passengers on an airplane - remember this?

Lol I get a laugh out of it too. Still can’t wrap my head around our totalitarian gov making the choice for us to be mandatory vaccinated to get on a plane here. Fackin bullshit if someone wants to go to a country such as Mexico that doesn’t require it why the fack should the gov be telling them you can’t get on a plane without it. You can ride a bus with 50 or 75 people not mandatory vaccinated & a lot of other examples.
If the concern is the flight staff leave that to airline policy, if your unvaxxed maybe they want a test before boarding that would be understandable. Makes obvious sense on the return home everybody needs a test I get that. Still cracks me up at the land border coming home from business drive right through no test required!
Before anyone jumps on me I’m vaxxed...not by choice need it for international travel or would have never been part of the biggest clinical trial in history!

I am open to listening and considering the argument against government mandate (at least as it relates to Canadian citizens). But in this particular situation, passengers were also wilfully violating the rules of the airline on it's private property (having accepted the terms of service in bad faith, terms which where legal and readily disclosed). Shouldn't the operator be free to terminate service, refuse future service, and seek damages for those actions?
Shouldn't the classical Personal Freedom purist also support the rights of private property owners and wealth generators, as well as linking personal freedom and persona responsibility?

This part I completely agree with. The whole thing was a pathetic face. I was in favor of very stringent border & travel restrictions but there was no point doing it in such a random half ass effort with more leaks than a 1998 Neon. Together with completely illusionary, ineffective "social distancing", almost no enforcement, and constant replenishment of new carriers, it is no wonder that by end of 2020 cases & hospitalizations were higher than with no mitigation at all in February & March.
This morning (early, early) CBC reported about 25% have already returned, ben tested and interrogated. All face fines for starters. The "organizer" of this thing needs a very stiff penalty. Maybe plant trees until you offset the flight's carbon footprint. Might as well get something positive about it eventually...
