No one cares that young adults are having a good time. It’s just a matter of time and place. It appears that this group had zero situational awareness.

Snorting blow in front of kids...Pure Trash.

So trashy. Absolute garbage. And to publicly post that.

Hope these guys get rowdy by a pool with some powerful people next to them. You know the ones nobody screws with because you fear your body with dissapear? Good old fashion lessons will never go out of style. Sometimes, people will continue to be shitheads until someone physically shuts them up.
Would have been a good life lesson if they were just left in Mexico long enough for their bratty attitudes to run afoul of some local thug-ristocrat and then have to empty their own and their families' bank accounts to get ransomed

l. Of course, she was also bawling about how she doesn't know how she's going to pay for her mounting hotel bill.
It's a tropical resort town, surely many ways to hustle some fast cash. There are probably quite a few pot-bellied middle-aged movie producers and financial execs with private villas who could find use for stranded millennials ... that would have been another good life lesson.

I've seen a few generations of young adults come and go. All these generations, including my own, have had their faults, but the generation born roughly between 1994 and 2004 has absolutely been the most spoiled, the most narcissistic and the most entitled group ever. I mean, no one even comes close. If these people are the "future leaders", we are screwed. They'll launch nuclear warheads just so they can post videos of themselves doing so on TikTok.

Maybe they will be thrown out of the Cancun resorts. It would do them good to live in the real, non-tourist Mexico for a while.
One girl, Rebecca St. Pierre, 19, from Trois-Rivières, Que, mentioned in a news interview that she didn't know how she was going to pay her mounting hotel bill and can't board a plane right know because she has contracted covid, so I would imagine not all are still at the resort.

Forget to mention this......I remove my mask in the cockpit. We have too since we wear a headset to communicate with Air Traffic Control. ATC has a problem hearing us while we are masked. Transport Canada has approved Pilots not wearing masks in the cockpit only. But, when I get up to take a piss, I am wearing my mask. Even on the bosses airplane. All us Corporate Pilot guys are doing it including Net Jets. So if the crews are doing it, so should the brats on the sunwing flight. I don't enjoy wearing a mask, however, I know its required and this isn't about what I like or dislike.
Since you are a pilot, do you know how soundproof the cockpit doors are?
Is it possible the pilots had no idea what was going on in the cabin?
I just don't understand why they wouldn't have put on the seat belt sign, dropped the masks and dropped altitude quickly and flown to the nearest airport or turned back to have them disembarked.
I mention dropping the masksand a quick drop in altitude as a scare tactic to have them take getting into their seats more seriously.

Too many people in this thread having seizures over a few young people having lots of fun.
Covid aside, the number of airline safety regulations that were broken is a big issue.
Those safety regulations were put in place as a result of past accidents in the hopes of eliminating them and keeping the crew AND passengers afe, as well as people on the ground that could be involved in a crash..
You should know that.

I wonder too, why the pilots did not turn around or land in one of the airports on the way. Maybe they did not have enough fuel to return to Canada.

WB explained that it would be a lot of hassles to land in another airport, but it has also created a lot of hassle to take them to Cancun.

We will know in a few weeks because Sunwing is under investigation.

I do know that landing a chartered plane in the US is extremely costly and has serious consequences (except for medical emergency). Like jailtime. They are damn serious about this since 2001.

So perhaps the crew saw that they were closer to destination then turning back to Montreal and decided to go on.

What we learn yesterday is that the on board crew sold them alcool, cash only, until at least half the flight. They were very friendly. At some point tho everyone was up and dancing so they revert back to the rear of the plane and observed them.
One of the hostess said at no point they were afraid or anything. So far it seem it was a media lie that they locked themselves at the back.

What is really troubling is that it seems the amount of fake vaccine passport is higher then anticipated. Those will be find and serious will face serious consequences.

Yeah, I would imagine there would be added airport fees for an unscheduled landing, as well as delaying a return flight from Cancun.
I know a delayed flight can cause a domino effect with other airlines when it comes to connecting flights, etc.
Not sure if the costs incurred due to a disrupted flight could be recouped from the unruly passengers or not.

We can hear the dancing in the back. But the flight Attendants are good at communicating with us with what's going on in the back.

Can/t just drop the mask. When these masks are deployed, once the aircraft lands, the airplane is grounded. You need an engineer to place those masks back inside its panel. If all the masks dropped on a 737, I am guessing that's going to take a day to recent the system. Some of these airports we land at, its not easy finding an Engineer on site whos certified to fix the snag on that type of aircraft. So that means flying an certified technical from Toronto to wherever so the masks can be reset. So now you adding another day. Before you know it, the aircraft has been grounded for two days before it moves.

No one knows when the party started. It could of been 3 hours into the flight with only 1 hour to go. If that was the case its easier to press on.

Of course, you're right. But it's their lack of concern for COVID that's the big problem, apparently.

Sharing cookies (instead of say, having oral sex in this hobby), is what makes them Devilish. All the standard safety regulations are secondary.

Thanks fo the explanation.
From the articles it would seem it started about half way through the flight and the fight attendants quit serving the cabin and stayed at the back of the plane, even though it was mentioned that the passengers were not aggressive towards them.

When people view safety regulations as "secondary" there is a definite lack of mental awareness.
Read what is being said in the articles, not the headlines, The Toronto-headquartered leisure operator said by email that the behavior of a group of passengers on the private charter flight "was unruly and contravened several Canadian aviation regulations as well as public health regulations."
The primary problem explained in their release is the contravetion of aviation regulations, the public health regulations are secondary in nature and the contravention in aviation regulations would be addressed wheter there was a pandemic on or not.

This whole ordeal makes me wonder how easily these so-called influencers can monetize their "fame" in a time of need. Do they get paid from instagram and tiktok the same way Youtube pays ad revenue? Or is it all money from advertisers, who can yank it at a moment's notice? I'm really ignorant as to how the lifestyle is financed. I assume based on number of followers that advertisers pay them to post pics with their products and brands. What happens now? Are any of these kids famous enough to be connected to larger brands and corporations? The kind of large corporations that immediately rescind any and all agreements?

Ultimately their parents will pay for transit home. But in true schadenfreude fashion I really hope a few are truly stranded and abandoned by social media, ultimately asking for help tail between legs.
Oh well. I could care less.
It`s Social Media! It`s not real fame LOL. Influencing IMHO is not a real career, and what are they contributing? Nothing worthwhile.
Our narcissistic culture today is so obsessed with being rich and famous, and don`t want to work hard to get there, this is a major problem.
These kids will be running the country when most of us our seniors or approaching middle age.
That apathetic kid that gives a snide look or groans because you asked them for a napkin at McDonald's and took their attention away from their phone,
will most likely be that same idiot doing the wrong surgery on you, (if they can get into and complete Med School) serving our meals, wiping your ass at the old age home,
flying you to your destination, etc. That's what happens when a generation is raised by tv, and the internet, and by parents that keep telling them how special they are,
instead of disciplining them, and teaching them how to be respectful, upstanding people, and not blame everything on the system.
If it's any consolation, these twats won't have their good looks forever. Eventually they'll have to get a real job. Many of them should probably get used to saying "would you like fries with that?"

Hot chicks stranded in Mexico need money to pay a $5K fine and pay for a flight home. That's got porno plot written all over it. lol

Traveller with fake PCR test at Brussels Airport sentenced to one year in prison

Credit: Brussels Airport
A man who got caught wanting to travel abroad with a forged PCR test at Brussels Airport was sentenced to a one-year prison term by the Brussels criminal court on Tuesday.
It concerns the first conviction since 27 April, when the public prosecutor’s office announced that it would take strict action against such violations.
The man on trial on Tuesday had presented himself at the airport with the results of a PCR test that was supposed to show that he had tested negative for the coronavirus, reports the Belga news agency.
However, after verification, it turned out that the test was forged, and the man in question confessed that a friend of his had taken such a test and he was now trying to use that document to travel abroad.

Not at all. These are young douche bag that have very active sex life already. They just wanted to party and the no brain factor made it impossible for them to realize you can't do that on a plane.
