They should have sent down Mayza , he has been struggling so far, instead of Big Nate, Pearson has been lights out so far and would have shut down the Yankees last night.

I was wondering this too, and the only thing I could think of is maybe it's one of those things where they don't have options left on Mayza. I don't really know how that stuff works, but as soon as Pearson was sent down I was didn't understand this move.

I'm 100% convinced that Vladdy will never be that super star he's made out to be, he'll be a 25 HR man.

I agree. I think like many players, he might squeeze in a really good year, but I think most years are going to be what you've seen the last few years. This why Shatkins hasn't extended him, and I so happy they haven't.

You can't trade him because who will dump gatorade on players who get interviewed after the game?

I have a bad feeling he'll be very successful if he winds up elsewhere.
I know, right? The talent is definitely there in a humungous way and it’s recognized all over the world. Enough for him and his home run trot 3rd base coach “shhhh” to be featured on the MLB 2024 video game lol I referred to that like it’s some type of substantial measure of success haha. They need to awaken his RBI senses and I would love to see him batting third in the order.

LOL one of my biggest reasons for disliking the trade of Teoscar Hernandez, was because of the effect it would have on Guerrero. Big brother/protection in the order…… Maybe the reality is, after six years in the league he is just not the superstar everyone thought he would be. Maybe the Blue Jays fought him on arbitration for a reason. Well clearly they did….

Now he is just lost, swinging at bad pitches and pounding grounders.
One of the most frustrating things about Guerrero, are those hard hit ground ball outs. At least the commentators don’t marvel about the exit velocity on those anymore. Those ground ball outs, and swinging at that curveball that’s a foot outside….. Those are the most frustrating things about watching Guerrero for me. And that big time slugger homer trot ritual that he does when he’s struggling the way he is.

Comparing Shulman vs. Kay:

1)Whom do you think is a better announcer?
2)Is one more of a homer than the other?
Good questions..I find Kay a little more opinionated. Shulman more diplomatic but we're splitting hairs. Both are top notch in their craft. Couldn't ask for more professionalism.

To me there was nothing better than listening to a Yankee game on YES with Paul O'Neill, David Cone and Kay.

Sometimes this makes me think Guerrero may never develop into a superstar. He’s an immature kid, and he doesn’t realize how ridiculous that looks when he’s not the hr threat he thinks he is.

Is this part of improving the fan experience?

I'll by a sausage from one of the trucks outside the dome before going in. Mind you, this probably gives them carte blanche to raise their prices. When I went last year, they were $3/dog and $4/sausage.

I always liked Ken Singleton. What did you think of him?
P.S. My opinion might be skewed because I liked him as a player.

Lets hope he's not fucked in the head like Manoah.
Lmfao. A Cuban defective, that went to play in Japan, and that later went defective from his Japanese team to seek work in MLB….. And his Japanese team was claiming the contract was still valid and he can’t leave …no he sounds like he’s perfectly sane. 😜

"An option (optional assignment) allows a club to move a player on its 40-man roster to and from the minor leagues without exposing him to other teams. Once a player is added to a team’s 40-man roster, his team has three options, or three different seasons in which the club may to send him to the minor leagues without having to clear waivers."

A general rule without having to look things up, is if the guy is in this 4th partial year in the majors he will not be able to be optioned without going through waivers. For many its the second or 3rd year, because they didn't make the team the first year or two after getting on the 40 man.

The Jays have an experienced pitching staff so there were only 3 guys that could be demoted without being placed on waivers. (Mayza, Cabrera, Francis)
