His market value can't be that high right now and I don't think he is the corner stone of a championship team. I hope the Jays do not sign him to a long term deal. Too immature + all the other issues mentioned by others in this thread. I hate the ice bucket. If this team doesn't turn it around in 3-4 weeks, blow it up.... players and management. Trade Vladdy if he goes on a hot streak to obtain maximum return.
i know its early but its a continuation of last year when he swings at pitches in the dirt or two feet outside. look at some of the guys who have better numbers ie cavan biggio davis schneider has as many hr with way less abs. ernie clement way better numbers. bo i know will turn it around he is just too good of a hitter. they should sighn him long term.

He would’ve been so much better coupled with Teoscar Hernandez. But whatever I’ve said it 20 billion times lol and there’s always some white knight popping up talking about how Teoscar was going to be a free agent and how his defence sucks lol. They should have locked up Vlads Dominican big brother to a multi year when they had the chance. His presence, his leadership, his mentorship and protection in the order to Guerrero… The Jays really fucked that whole situation right up. Ross the boss says “let’s just sign a bunch of randoms to one year deals and hope that they click.”

Anyways I have said it all before. The handling of Hernandez was idiotic for the wrong reasons. A moronic view on clubhouse chemistry.

Poor Guerrero. Came up with all the promise in the world, killer 2021, then had his entire supporting cast dismantled within one year. No wonder he’s so confused at the plate. Ross the boss thought the kid was Superman, or expected to find lightning in a bottle with all these random one year contracts. Guerrero just got picked off of first base as I type this. Lol

Stop getting mad at Vlad.

It is management that overated him for marketing.

I cannot see why we do not trade him as getting a slugger
at first base is the easiest position to fill.

He strikes out and grounds out way too much to help this team on offence.

I believe we can get value as another team may take a chance of turning him into a superstar.

You have to believe Bo is still one of the best hitters in the game and will figure his slump out.

Vlad and Springer are another story. Maybe platoon Springer with someone from the farm. Springer is not a liability on defense

We have not got a quality top three in the lineup and that is essential. Deal with it

Good chance we can hang on until trading dealine then pickup a couple of hitters to make a run at the big show
as all the other ducks are in a row.
]

meanwhile Vlad is a handicap.

It’s a damn shame if you ask me regarding Vladimir. We see the struggle every day. Bad choices at the plate. The inability to cash runs and come up with clutch hitting. These almost pointless, consecutive base hit mini streaks he puts together. The kid has no energy in his game, and this organization has done everything possible to make it almost impossible for him. Simple minded innocence, with an extremely complex set of circumstances that he needs to excel….. it’s all about his supporting and keeping him fun and goofy. He has been expected to step up and be a leader when he’s just not really mentally there.

It’s frustrating to watch. For me it’s even more frustrating because of what he could be and what he should be.

Vladdie is only 25. Give the guy a fucking break.
Guys like EE and Bautista didnt become great hitters until their late 20's and early 30's.
Worst thing Jays can do is trade him. He needs time and experience

and don't get me started with Swanson
The guy on the incoming trade block for the biggest self-inflicted chemistry fuck in recent memory. It’s in the past so c’mon Vlad let’s grow up and be the leader….

Possible replacement should Manoah return and struggle.

Last start in Mexico; TREVOR BAUER MAKING HISTORY
-14 strikeouts in 5 innings
- 9 consecutive strikeouts
- 12 strikes in a row
- Struck out all 3 batters with 9 pitches in a single inning

Yeah, but what about the Jays pitching? It's in dire need of a major overhaul and don't get me started with Swanson
The Jays, the management and their offense deserve lots of criticism. But being realistic means acknowledging that the pitching staff very, very good and whatever the team accomplishes in terms of wins and making the playoffs last season, the pitching staff deserves the lions share of the credit, They're probably top 6-8 in MLB. Last I looked, the entire staff, or maybe it was just the starters had the 2nd best ERA in the majors.

Can it be better? Sure. But it is hardly in need of a major overhaul.

Not happening here. The Jays have a zero tolerance policy for any player who's had a PED inch, uncomplimentary online opinions about the Alphabet community, or a #MeToo taint. Winning comes second to their adherence to inclusivity.

By the way, alleged domestic batterer Robert Osuna had a 0.92 ERA and 26 Saves in the Japanese League last year.

Right, but the problem is this:

This administration took over in 2016. They basically had a 5 year plan and got a bit of a mulligan cause of COVID. We are now 8 years into this and the team hasn't won a playoff game and seems to be getting worse. If they didn't think Vlad was going to be old enough/mature enough to carry the team, they should have traded him. Now you'll get pennies on the dollar for him, and in the meantime you have a middling team that plays a very boring brand of baseball.

Sure, but the fact Jays suck is not Vladdie's fault

Ross Atkins should be assassinated. Beheaded sounds about right. I’ll never understand what he was thinking and I’ll never understand exactly why. The worst part is, so many people sat back and let him dismantle this whole thing after the 2021 season and even more so after the 2022 season ….with minimal backlash initially. He changed the landscape of the core ingredients that made this team what they were. He’s a moron. What kind of a GM has no concept of team chemistry.

I wish they did everything in their power to retain that 2021 team. The only move I like is letting Robbie Ray go after he just won the Cy Young award, which is an incredibly unorthodox move… But in hindsight with his injury it was a good move. But before we issue Ross Atkins his Nobel prize for that move, he had no way of knowing there was an injury coming. That 2021 was so perfect. The fun. The jacket. etc etc… if that team had stayed together, Vladimir Guerrero Jr would be an absolute superstar right now imho. 2022 and 2023 and 2024 Tdot would’ve been the hotspot!

fans dig the long ball….

Compare this to Blue Jays waaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced food IE cheese pizza slice $8

Everyone gets fed for $32

Yes, it is total junk food but that is what the Jays vendors sell as well because that is what the fans want
They are just suppling a demand. When fans demand quality food they will get it

If you want quality food you have to pack so save $ and eat well all at the same time

Skydome , with a great venue and low prices (ticket prices not food prices), is still the best deal in town even if the Jays cannot hit

Eat your health food and walk around as you are allowed everywhere and get your exercise as well
