And how long did that take the Orioles? Also how does mlse sell a bigger market like Toronto that they’ll lose on purpose for multiple seasons.

Fans will come to see promising future stars

How long did it take the Orioles? To your point, it seems to take baseball a longer time
to rebuild than other sports but that is just my outsider observation but the alternative
is a losing team of pretenders for ever

I drool over the young talent we could get if we trade Bo and Vlad and all the vets

A prospect is no guarantee but that is why you demand several prospects for a star

knowing some will be future stars

I don't think Teo would've put them over the top. He benefited from playing on a stacked roster.
I don’t think so either, but they have to do something, so Guerrero is not the singular threat in the lineup that can be easily pitched around. And Hernandez would be a suitable talent for that.

If this team has any chance in the next couple of years to avoid a full rebuild and to just buy themselves out of this mess… extending Guerrero was priority one. And now I feel like it’s too late. All the balls are in his court, and he can command basically whatever he wants. And with these cheap ass minded fools running the organization, I think we can kiss Guerrero goodbye. I have a really sick feeling baseball will be dead in Toronto in the coming years and we will be sadly comparable to the 2000s.

Paying Chris Davis $23 Million per season to hit .168 made a long rebuild inevitable. Almost every team that signs anyone to those huge money deals lives to regret it, and ends up in the second division year after year because of it. Even if they can trade the player, they usually have to eat most of the remaining guaranteed money.

Ohtani is an exception; any team would have gladly given him the same deal that he accepted from the Dodgers.

I question such a long term deal to anyone including Ohtani and Soto as they may get injured

Ohanti could not pitch or bat in post season due to injury

Vlad will require such a superstar deal so I say trade him

Fill your team with enough stars and you do not need a superstar

The problem with the Blue Jays is Shatkins haven't been able to draft and develop players the way Houston has been able to.

Wonder if they knew he was using Adderall when they signed him to that big deal.

agree that it all comes down to good management and shatkins is not elite management
so it makes more sense to spend money on great management than players
